Brenda Song took to social media on Saturday, March 21 with what looked to be a pretty alarming in-flight experience.

The actress, 37, documented on her Instagram Stories a recent experience flying with Alaska Airlines alongside her family, involving her fiancé Macaulay Culkin, 45, and their two sons, Dakota, four, and Carson, three.

Brenda Song was left furious after an experience flying Alaska Airlines with her family

She claimed that despite having booked their first class tickets for the family of six (including additional members) many months in advance, they ended up being separately seated during the actual flight.

"I didn't know when you book your first class tickets six months in advance for your family of six for your son's birthday – @alaskaair can just give away your seats the morning of with no warning – splitting up you and your three and four year old kids," she wrote.

Brenda concluded with: "We will never fly @alaskaair again and neither should you," then tagging Macaulay in her statement as well, who reposted it on his own Stories and wrote with it: "Hell hath no fury like a Brenda scorned…"

A spokesperson for Alaska Airlines later issued a statement in which they noted that the airline had reached out to the family to "make it right," adding: "The experience these guests had today was unacceptable and not reflective of the care we strive to deliver."

"Traveling can be stressful, especially with young children, and we pride ourselves on being a top airline for traveling families. We are deeply sorry for adding friction to the experience."

Alaska's website actually states when it comes to family seating: "At Alaska Airlines, we care for you and your family. We strive to make your family's travel experience as smooth as possible – this includes ensuring you are seated together on your flight free of charge, regardless of your class of service."

"We guarantee that children 13 and under will be seated next to at least one accompanying adult at no additional cost, including for Saver fares," provided they're all on the same reservation and the airline has the seating to accommodate such a situation if seats aren't pre-booked.

Their website also adds: "Our systems are programmed to detect you are traveling as a family and will automatically try to assign seats together."

"If the full family is unable to obtain seat assignments together, we will ensure children (age 13 and under) are seated with at least one parent or adult from the same party."

Brenda and Macaulay began dating in 2017, going official with their relationship the year after. They worked together on the 2017 movie Changeland, which was how they first met. They welcomed their son Dakota in 2021, got engaged the following year, and welcomed their second son, Carson, that March.
