Congratulations are in order for Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge! The couple are parents once again.
On March 25, Sofia, 27, posted on Instagram that she and Elliot, 32, had welcomed their second baby, an adorable little boy that they had named Henry Cecil Grainge.
Henry was born on March 18, and Sofia shared a photo of him dressed in a blue onesie, his face obscured, cradled by his older sister Eloise, who was born in May of 2024. "Loves of my life," she captioned it.
"Henry!!!!!!!!!" one of her followers commented on her post, with another sweetly adding: "Congratulations! Welcome to the world Henry," and a third writing: "Henry Cecil that's soooo cute!!" with several others commenting blue heart emojis.
The model and fashion designer confirmed that she and Elliot, a music executive who is the son of Sir Lucian Grainge, were dating back in 2021. He proposed the year after, and they tied the knot in 2023 in the south of France.
Sofia has been open about the joys of being a new mom soon after welcoming Eloise, but she's also not shied away from discussing the struggles of motherhood either. "It's shocking how little we hear about aftercare or what you might experience postpartum," she told InStyle last year at a Baby2Baby event about postpartum struggles.
"Having a place to turn to for education is crucial – because I didn't even know where to look at first. What Baby2Baby is doing here – just distributing basic information on how to safely put your baby to sleep, for example – is amazing."
Looking back on what she calls the "overwhelming" postpartum period, Sofia added: "In my case, it was mental health. Thankfully, I had the resources to manage my postpartum struggles – but it immediately made me think of the women who don't."
"It can be extremely hard, and it really breaks my heart for those moms. So, it's amazing to partner with Baby2Baby to give back – not just to babies, but to the mothers, too. Because mom is the source. Mom has to be okay for everything else to run smoothly."
During an appearance on the SheMD podcast with her own fetal specialist Dr. Thais Aliabadi, Sofia recalled that her pregnancy with Eloise had gone fine until she was 32 weeks in and began experiencing unusual complications.
When she went to visit a specialist on her doctor's advice, she recalled of the moment: "They hooked me up to the monitor and they were like, 'You're in active labor.' I was really terrified." After six days in the hospital, she was able to go home but spent six weeks on bed rest contracting before she was finally induced.
"I gave birth and I was like, 'Wow, I really did that,'" Sofia recalled. "I did six weeks or however many weeks of contractions and I have my beautiful daughter. I'm healthy. I'm safe. She's healthy. She's safe."
