Blue Bloods star Alex Duong dies aged 42 after aggressive cancer battle


The actor and comedian leaves behind his wife and five-year-old daughter

Alex Duong, best known for his appearances on Blue Bloods, has died at the age of 42 following a battle with a rare and aggressive form of cancer.

The actor and comedian passed away early Saturday at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica. Family friend Hilarie Steele confirmed to TMZ that Alex suffered septic shock the night before his death.

“He was comfortable and thankfully out of pain,” she shared on a Gofundme set up to help support his memorial service and the educational costs of young daughter.

“He was alert enough to say goodbye to his little girl, whom he has treasured every moment since the day she was born,” she added. 

“We are devastated, but so grateful for the support, prayers and generosity you have all shown during this unimaginable time.”

“Your continued support now means everything as Christina and Everest navigate the days ahead and to arrange a beautiful celebration of his life,” she added. “All of us will be by her side to hold her up and help her in every way possible.”

Alex had been diagnosed with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and fast-moving cancer, after initially experiencing severe headaches behind his eye, symptoms that ultimately led to his devastating diagnosis.

His passing has sent shockwaves through the entertainment community, where he was admired not only for his talent but also for his warmth, resilience, and unmistakable comedic voice.
