Fran Drescher and Charles Shaughnessy have left fans doing a double take.
Over the weekend, the former The Nanny co-stars reunited, and appeared nearly unchanged from their days on the beloved sitcom in a photo from their reunion.
The Marty Supreme actress and the Days of Our Lives alum appeared as Fran Fine and Maxwell Sheffield on The Nanny from 1993 to 1999; the series also featured Lauren Lane, Daniel Davis, Benjamin Salisbury, Madeline Zima, and Nicholle Tom, among others.
Following their reunion at the premiere of the new musical Somebody to Love in Los Angeles, Fran took to Instagram and shared a photo of the two.
They appear holding up the Playbill for the show, which was written by The Nanny executive producers and writers Rob Sternin and Prudence Fraser, with Fran stepping out in a ribbed burgundy jumpsuit paired with a red leather jacket, while Charles matched her in a black leather jacket.
"The production, w/a great cast was very entertaining & moving," Fran wrote of the play, adding: "The smart book covers, like a time capsule, all the hopes and trials of the 1970's into the 1980's. Women's rights, gay rights, aspirations for a traditional life vs sex, drugs and rockin' roll told through 4 unlikely college friends who make a verbal agreement on their graduation day to always stay in touch and support each other."
"It's a jukebox musical which means the music is not original but very familiar popular songs spanning the years of the story so it's enjoyable to hear by actors who sing beautifully," she continued, noting: "Twas great as always to see my dear Charles Shaughnessy as well as other 'The Nanny' alumni! GO!"
Fans were then quick to take to the comments section under the post and gush over the reunion, with one suggesting: "Reboot WHEN??????? We need to see Max & Fran as grandparents," as others followed suit with: "What's up Miss Fine and Mr.Sheffield! Y'all haven't aged at all, the years have been so good to you both!" and: "The pair of you look terrific. I'm glad to see you and your lovely cast mates remain close after all this time," as well as: "Y'all are darling."
Most recently, Fran, who was also in recent years president of SAG-AFTRA before being succeeded by Sean Astin, appeared on the Oscar-nominated Marty Supreme, starring Timothée Chalamet.
She last appeared prominently in a TV series in 2020, starring as Debbie on Indebted, however earlier this year, she told Ted Danson on his podcast Where Everybody Knows Your Name that she doesn't see herself doing another sitcom.
"You know, it's just the idea of going into the soundstage every day," she explained. "The last one that I did wasn't my show. I played the mom in it, and I really didn't — I loved the people, but I didn't enjoy the experience that much because we were shooting it over the winter months."
"It was pretty dark when I entered the stage, and it was dark when I left it. And I thought, 'I just lost the whole day. Was this worth it? Is this how I would have wanted to spend the day if it turned out to be the last day of my life?' And it wasn't," she noted.
