Zendaya's current sartorial agenda is marked by 'something blue' as she powers through a fashion marathon on the press tour for her new film, The Drama. The actress graced the New York premiere's afterparty at the Waverly Inn on April 2.
For the occasion, Zendaya slipped into a silky navy gown by Di Petsa. The garment featured a sheer bodice detailed with asymmetric accents and tassel detailing. The star went braless and let the backless number with a halterneck design steal the show. The look was accessorised with diamond and sapphire encrusted earrings and navy heels.
The sheer garment arrives after a year where the naked dress reigned supreme. Standout moments included Margot Robbie's jeweled custom Armani Privé look, Dakota Johnson and Demi Moore’s lace creations by Gucci, and Lily Allen’s striking Coleen Allen 'revenge dress'.
At its core, the trend is defined by its barely-there materials, sheer mesh, metallic knits, chainmail, lace, and airy organza all play a part in its ethereal appeal.
Zendaya's brunette locks were styled into a micro-short bob with a glossy, wet look while her makeup oozed soft glam, courtesy of striking blue eyeshadow, bronze cheeks, and a glossy lip. Frosted blue lids are part of the playful and ethereal trend that's dominating the beauty sphere. Icy-blue eyeshadow is the nostalgic nod that beauty brands are already tapping into, think Chanel’s latest Denim Dream collection. The look channels a hint of 60s style reimagined with modern edge.

Prior to the afterparty, Zendaya commanded the red carpet in a Schiaparelli Spring 2026 Haute Couture ball gown from The Agony & The Ecstasy collection. The black bustier ball gown boasted a sculptural silhouette adorned with feathers and bold blue plumes. The garment was crafted from black crinoline and tulle with satin stitching and featured a bandeau neckline that fell into a tiered skirt.
The gown was styled with matching blue satin heels embellished with trompe l’œil bird’s head and Tiffany & Co. earrings. According to the fashion house, the gown took 8,000 hours to finish.
For the film's premiere in Rome, the actress donned a black Giorgio Armani dress that featured a plunging neckline adorned with beaded trim detailing and a figure-hugging mermaid skirt.
The dress was originally worn by Cate Blanchett in 2022 at the Actor Awards, and again in 2025, for the Venice Film Festival.
Directed by Kristoffer Borgli, The Drama hits screens on April 3.
