Reigning supreme on red carpets season after season, the naked dress proves it knows no age limit. Few embody this better than Heidi Klum, who at 52 continues to embrace whisper-thin mesh and barely-there organza with confidence.
The supermodel graced the Vanity Fair's Oscar Party back in March, dressed in the ultimate sheer number. The event was held at LACMA following the 98th Academy Awards. Heidi donned a custom Chrome Hearts dress in a trend butter-yellow shade. The satin gown featured a halter neckline with an open back design while nude mesh adorned the bodice and skirt, embellished with sequin embroidery and delicate beadwork in gold and silver tones.
The dress was finished with a daring, thigh-high slit that was layered with the sheer embroidered panel. The look was accessorized with Paris Texas’ mirrored gold Lidia mules that featured an open-toe design with a killer heel.
The German native's luscious blonde locks were styled into soft waves with a side-parting while her makeup oozed sultry glam, courtesy of a smoky eye, a glowing cheek, and a nude-stained lip.
Heidi Klum's love for a naked dress
Heidi has never been one to shy away from a daring sheer number. Most notably, she wore a nude, skin-tight latex mini dress to the 2026 Grammys. The garment was custom-made by Berlin label Marina Hoermanseder and featured a sculptural silhouette with a bandeau neckline. It was cut elegantly on the knee and was adorned with leather and harness accents with a series of gold buckles on the side of the dress.
"I thought this is a true Grammy dress because people are a little bit more expressive there with their fashion," she told People. However, naked dresses come with their fair share of problems. Heidi explained that the fabric was so rigid it made walking difficult, turning even small movements into a careful effort. The piece was made from lacquered, spray-treated leather designed to maintain its structured silhouette.
"It was very hard to walk in it because it is very hard material," she shared. "It’s kind of like an armor piece, front and back. There’s no slit, and so there is just no give. So you can only do baby steps, tiny little baby steps. That’s why there’s a lot of fun memes going around now of me running around on the red carpet."
The supermodel has always embraced her body and remained open-minded about nudity. "I’ve been photographing nude or in lingerie since 1992, way before Instagram," she told People. "So for me, it’s nothing new. People always say, 'You probably got more confident as you've gotten older,' but I have always been confident," she added. "I have no problem walking around in my underwear. I’m not hiding in a corner."
