Five years in, Frankie Muñiz is still learning how to juggle his career with being a father.

The Malcolm in the Middle actor, 40, first entered dadhood in 2021, when he welcomed son Mauz Mosley Muñiz in 2021 with wife Paige Muñiz (née Price).

"It is very hard, I won't lie," he told Us Weekly at the April 7 premiere of the Malcolm in the Middle reboot, Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair, of juggling acting and race car driving with parenthood and marriage. "Honestly, my wife is a saint. She's sacrificing so much for me to live my dream."

Paige and Frankie's love story

Paige and Frankie met in February 2016, at the 28th annual Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational held in Indio, California, where Paige was working for a golf network, while Frankie was participating in the tournament.

Though it's unclear exactly how their relationship developed, they confirmed their romance later in the year with separate Instagram posts, in August and November.

They got engaged two years later, with Frankie proposing at the Lantern Fest in Casa Grande, Arizona on November 19. In a lengthy Instagram post announcing the engagement, Paige wrote: "Francisco Muniz IV, you're more than a dream to me. You teach me every day, you compliment me when I'm at my worst, and you push me past the edge but you're there to pick me up when I start showing signs of falling."

"I truly cannot wait to be your wife," she added. You're officially the master of proposals."

They married twice, first spontaneously eloping in October 2019 while on a hike, with just three people as witness. They then held a larger, 40-person wedding a few months later, the same date of their first meeting, February 21, just four years later.

Meet Paige

Paige, who is originally from Marianna, Pennsylvania, previously worked for a golf network as a presenter, through which she attended events and interviewed players, which is how she met Frankie in 2016.

She is now a business owner, since she along with Frankie purchased an olive oil shop in Scottsdale, Arizona, where they are based, in 2018, named Outrageous Olive Oils & Vinegars.

Paige and Frankie's son

The couple welcomed their first son, Mauz, in March 2021. A few months after his birth, Paige explained on Instagram of her son's name: "Mauz stems from the Hebrew 'Mauzzim' or 'Moazim' which translates to God of Fortresses, if we're talking literally. When written in the Bible, it was intended to be interpreted as 'God's Protector.' Mauz, means: a place or means of safety, or protection. And his name suits him absolutely perfectly."

Frankie has previously shared that the birth of his son inspired him to focus on his second career, race car driving, but also that he'd never let Mauz become a child actor like he was. "It hit me when I had my son," he told People in 2023 of pursuing his racing dreams. "I want him to grow up seeing me reach for my dreams and work hard for something that I'm passionate about, and the one world where I feel like I still have unfinished business was the racing world. So I'm going to go racing."

Speaking with Pedestrian TV in March 2024, he revealed: "I would never let my kid go into the business," adding: "Not that I had a negative experience, because to be honest, my experience was 100% positive. But I know so many people, friends that were close to me, that had such insanely negative experiences."

"I just think it's an ugly world, in general. I never cared about rejection, but there's a ton of rejection," he noted.
