'80s action star, Steven Seagal, 74, still looks incredibly youthful

Steven Seagal has long been one of Hollywood’s most recognisable action stars, and as he celebrates his 74th birthday on Friday April 10, 2026 he still looks as youthful as ever.

Rising to fame in the late 1980s, Steven quickly carved out a niche in the action genre with his distinctive martial arts style and commanding screen presence. His breakout role came in Above the Law, followed by a string of hits including Hard to Kill, Marked for Death and Under Siege, which cemented his status as a box office draw.

Unlike many of his contemporaries, Steven brought a background in aikido to his performances, having spent years in Japan where he became one of the first Westerners to operate an aikido dojo. That authenticity helped set him apart during the golden era of action films, alongside stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone.

Away from the big screen, Steven’s life has been anything but conventional. He has been married four times, including to model and actress Kelly LeBrock, with whom he shares three children. His personal life – often lived out of the spotlight in recent years – has spanned continents, with strong ties to both the United States and Russia.

In fact, Steven was granted Russian citizenship in 2016 and has since maintained a close relationship with the country, even taking on diplomatic and cultural roles. These moves have occasionally sparked controversy, but they have also underscored his reputation for forging an unconventional path.

In recent years, Steven has stepped back from mainstream Hollywood, instead focusing on a mix of independent film projects, business ventures and one particularly surprising passion – music. A longtime blues enthusiast, he has released multiple albums and performed live, showcasing a softer, more soulful side that contrasts sharply with his on-screen persona.
