Jane Kaczmarek's high school years brought her love again 50 years later.
The Wisconsin native is nearing her one-year wedding anniversary with none other than her high school sweetheart, having reunited with him at her 50-year high school reunion in 2024.
The Malcolm in the Middle alum, 70, was previously married to fellow actor Bradley Whitford from 1992 to 2010, and they are parents to three kids, Frances, 28, George, 26, and Mary Louisa, 23.
Appearing on Good Morning America while promoting the four-episode Malcolm in the Middle reboot Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair, Jane had her new husband Rusty Long supporting her from the sidelines.
She then explained: "This year has been… we did this," referring to the reboot of the Disney Channel show, adding: "I went to my 50th high school reunion."
She went on to reveal that her high school best friend had married her then-boyfriend now-husband's best friend. "[She] said, 'Would you like to see Rusty again?' And we got back together and we got married this summer."
Calling their love story "a fairy tale," she further shared that they are now splitting their time between their hometown of Mequon, Wisconsin and California. "So we’re spending a lot of time in Wisconsin. Rusty still is practicing… he's a corporate bankruptcy attorney."
"Life couldn't be better," Jane emphasized.
Like Jane, Rusty was also previously married, and is a father to two children as well as a grandfather to a seven and 11-year-old.
Jane previously opened up to People about rekindling her romance with Rusty, which she said was "immediate" upon seeing each other. She shared that after their reunion, ever the gentleman, Rusty accompanied her home, greeted Jane's mother, and the pair "went in the living room that hasn't been redecorated since 1968 and just made out on the couch."
She also recalled Rusty's sweet proposal, at a Robert Burns-themed gathering in Pasadena, during which Rusty, in a toast, declared: "I would like to toast to romance. I've been in love with Jane my entire life, and I want to ask her to marry me."
"It was heaven," Jane added. "You can be really corny because part of you is still feeling like a high school kid."
