Meghan Trainor is wading into the Hollywood mom group drama, after getting "dragged" into it.

Earlier this year, Ashley Tisdale sparked a gossip storm after publishing an essay in The Cut which detailed her departure from a "toxic" A-list mom group.

Though the Disney Channel alum did not directly name anyone in the essay, it didn't take long for internet sleuths to speculate that the piece could have been referring to the "All About that Bass" singer as well as Hilary Duff and Mandy Moore, who were known to be part of a mom group in Los Angeles that the High School Musical actress was connected to.

Meghan, speaking with Us Weekly, has since maintained that there is no bad blood between her and Ashley, and that she "texted all of them" after rumors swirled that they were the ones involved in a "toxic" group of mean girls.

"I felt bad for Ashley," she said of the reaction to the story, adding: "I felt bad that she was ever that sad, and I think it was just a lot of miscommunication and confusion. I don't know what happened, but I wish them all the best."

In the essay, famously titled: "Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group," Ashley wrote about "starting to feel frozen out of the group, noticing every way that they seemed to exclude me" and sensing a "growing distance between me and the other members of the group, who seemed to not even care that I wasn’t around much."

"Ashley texted me like, 'I'm sorry, your name got dragged in,'" Meghan further shared. "I was like, 'It's all right, girl, like, the world's a silly, crazy place, and they just want something to talk about.'"

She added that other moms also reached out. "It was a nightmare for a lot of moms in that group," she revealed.

Meghan continued: "I felt really, really bad. And like, I'm used to [the hate]. … So I said, 'Don't worry, guys, it’s all on me.' But some moms don't want to be famous [or] never wanted attention on them at all, and they were like, 'I was un-Googleable, and now I'm everywhere, and I'm devastated.'"

Meghan has been married to Daryl Sabara since 2018, and the couple are parents to sons Riley, five, and Barry, two, as well as daughter Mikey Moon, who they welcomed via surrogate in January.

Meanwhile Ashley, who now goes by her married name Ashley French has been married to musician Christopher French since 2014, and the couple are parents to daughters Jupiter, five, and Emerson, who will be two years old in September.
