Christina Applegate has reportedly been hospitalized amid her ongoing battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a disease wherein the immune system attacks the protective layer around the nerves, leading to incredibly painful symptoms.

The 54-year-old, who announced her diagnosis to the world in 2021, was reportedly admitted to hospital in late March, according to TMZChristina's representative shared a statement in the wake of the news, which read: "I have no comment on whether she is in the hospital or what her medical treatments are."

"She's had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast," they concluded. It is unclear if Christina was hospitalized for reasons relating to her MS.

The mother of one has been honest about the pain and trauma that comes with living with MS, and shared on her MeSsy podcast that she had been hospitalized dozens of times since receiving her diagnosis.

"For three years, since I was diagnosed, I've been in the hospital upwards of 30 times from throwing up and diarrhea and pain that is unimaginable," she explained. "They've done every test known to man on me, put so much radiation into my body from CT scans to everything else."

"It's been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going. Unless some [expletive] blocks it. As one of my friends that has MS said, 'We wake up and take the indicated action.' And that's what I do. So now I ask for privacy. As I go through this thing. Thank you xo."
