Sarah Michelle Gellar, 49, revealed the secret to her glowing skin.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star believes that less is more when it comes to achieving youthful-looking skin.
The actress shared: "I hate to say high-maintenance or low-maintenance. [My beauty routine is] simple in the sense that I definitely believe that you need three or four really good products. We get these TikToks and Instagrams sent to us, and we [think we] need things, but we don't," per Glamour.
She continued: "It's about the products that work and consistency. But I am loyal to my routine. It doesn't matter how late I get home and how tired I am, the makeup comes off, my skin gets washed, and my products go on, because you have to take care of your skin."
Sarah's early start
The entertainer first began taking care of her skin during her teenage years, prior to her popular role as Buffy.
The actress recalled: "I did a show when I was a teenager, and this makeup artist said, 'We're going to teach you how to take care of your skin.' I had my first facial, I think I was 16, and it stuck with me ever since then. I'm the person on the airplane that's moisturizing their face on the airplane and spraying it down. It's also [part of] my job."
She is a huge fan of using a gua sha and a neck roller too. When it comes to her go-to products, she shared: "I love a two-for-one. I'm a bargain girl. It's a space-saver and it's a time-saver."
Sarah's dislikes
One thing she's not a fan of is online skincare trends. She expressed: "I mean, we're all putting sperm on our faces right now. I think that's a little strange, right? But I'm not a big trend person. I had to try it, but I'm definitely a more tried-and-true kind of girl, so I haven't done that many."
The TV star revealed that she's attempted to teach her daughter to overlook trends as well.
She explained: "My daughter is the reverse struggle. My daughter wants every product under the sun. She sees it on TikTok and then we have to drive to the store. And I'm trying to teach her to pare it down and find out what really works for her skin versus what person she looks up to is promoting this week on social media."
A new era
The actress expressed that as she's approaching her 50s, she's never felt better, and her mindset has nothing to do with her beauty routine, because it's skin deep.
Sarah revealed: "I actually think I look better now. I have great memories, but I'm happier now. I feel more confident. I feel better."
