Francesca Scorsese has dealt with negative comments "for years and years" as the daughter of famed director Martin Scorsese, but she isn't staying silent anymore.
The 26-year-old has clapped back at trolls after she received a barrage of online abuse about her appearance following the news that she has been cast in season two of Prime Video's Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
Francesca shared a now-viral video on TikTok, admitting that calling her "ugly and fat" was among some of the worst personal criticisms she has ever experienced.
"On my most recent repost about this new amazing role that I just got. It has some of the worst comments I have ever seen about me," she began. "I've gotten hate for years. Okay, it just comes with the territory. But this is something else."
Addressing nepo baby criticism, Francesca acknowledged she had an advantage being the Goodfellas director's daughter, adding: "I know I have doors opened for me. Like I'm still trying to do the work, you know. I'm still going hard, and being passionate, and creating, and doing the work."
She continued: "I think like if you go on people's videos and you seek out negativity, you're a very, very sad person. Comparing me to a fridge, or Miss Piggy, or saying I have a face for radio and that I'm incredibly ugly and fat.
"I get it, I'm not the most beautiful girl in the world. I'm not the skinniest girl in the world. I'm chubby, I know it."
Francesca admitted it's not even the first time she has seen such hateful comments. "This doesn't even just go for this post anymore. Like, this is on all my videos. And it's just making me so sad for not myself, it's making me sad for other people.
"You know like, I've seen so many horrible comments on other girls' posts, 'cause looks are the only things that people can really pick on."
Francesca revealed that she even deleted Twitter because "it was just a cesspool of disgusting comments and negativity," and she fears TikTok is heading the same way.
She added: "The things people were saying about me and other women and other people in general were just appalling. But I feel like TikTok is kind of becoming that place now. And it's just upsetting."
Ending her video, Francesca said: "I'm fine, I'm strong, I've dealt with it for years and years. And I know I have a huge figure, my father, to live up to. And like that always overshadows me as a person.
"But like, I mean, come on, guys, I just want TikTok to be a better place. Like I feel like it used to be."
Martin was 56 when he welcomed Francesca with his fifth wife, Helen Morris. In 2024, he spoke about becoming a father for a third time later in life on SiriusXM's This Life of Mine with James Corden.
"It was extraordinary and by that point, I was 56 and it was a different perspective on life," he said: "This was like some special blessing of some kind."
