Paris Hilton is taking a look back at one of her most "iconic" projects, the 2008 campy musical film Repo! The Genetic Opera.

The reality TV star, now 45, played Amber Sweet in the theatrical adaptation of the 2002 stage musical of the same name. Repo! received primarily negative reviews upon release, with Paris herself winning a Golden Raspberry Award for her work. Upon release, the film was also a box office bomb, making less than $200,000 in its initial theatrical run.

But in the years since, it has become a cult classic in the same vein as The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and in honor of a new re-release in theaters over the weekend, the House of Wax star shared some throwbacks on her social media from the making of the film.

For the project, Paris ditched her signature golden locks for sleek, jet black hair, paired with a blunt bang, dark make-up, icy blue contacts, and outfits that ranged from leather bondage wear to frilly sheer robes.

I'll always be grateful to @DarrenBousman, @DGsBandLeader, @Terrance.Zdunich, #MarkBurg, and @Lionsgate for believing in me and bringing this wild world to life."

Shouting out her cast members, Paris added: "So much love to my #RepoFamily— @AlexaPenaVega, @SarahBrightmanMusic, @SarahPower, @ChopTopMoseley, @Ohgr_Official, Anthony Stewart Head, and the legendary Paul Sorvino, who we miss so much."

The film received negative reviews upon release, winning Paris a Golden Raspberry, but has since become a cult classic

The gothic rock opera is set in 2056, in a dystopian reality where 99% of the human population has gone extinct due to an epidemic of organ malfunctions, with the company GeneCo providing organ transplants on a deceitful payment plan. Those unable to pay up have their organs repossessed by a Repo Man.

The film's central story revolves around GeneCo CEO Rotti Largo, who wants to give his inheritance to his late fiancée's daughter Shiloh, while his own three children, Luigi, Pavi and Amber, fight out for their own spots in the will.

Paris plays Amber, a figurehead for GeneCo who later becomes their spokesperson and performs in an opera. Amber is obsessed with plastic surgery and by the end of the film [spoiler alert] assumes ownership of GeneCo.
