Jennifer Aniston took a fond trip down memory lane, as she sat down with long time friend and Friends co-star, Lisa Kudrow, for Variety’s Actors on Actors series and revealed rare remarks on her ex Brad Pitt.
The actresses, who starred together on the show for almost a decade, reminisced on some of the best moments shared on the iconic sitcom from 1994-2004.
The 57-year-old, who played Rachel Green alongside Lisa, 62, as Phoebe Buffay, looked back on the show’s impressive roster of Hollywood stars who appeared as guests throughout its ten year run.
"Did you like the Thanksgiving episodes?" Jennifer asked. "Those were fun."
Her co-star agreed, highlighting one guest star in particular. "Yes. Those were great, the Thanksgiving episodes. When Brad was on, that was hilarious," she said, referring to Brad’s appearance in the show’s eighth season.
Appearances included Brad Pitt, Bruce Willis, Julia Roberts and Isabella Rossellini. Jennifer added: “We had so many - Sean Penn. They were always nervous. Remember? I always found it fascinating how nervous they were.”
Brad made a cameo as Will Colbert, a former high school friend of Monica and Ross’ who hated Rachel - played by Jennifer his then real wife, whom he was still married to at the time.
The couple, first pictured together in 1998, were married in a lavish 2000 Malibu ceremony, and quickly became one of Hollywood’s most gorgeous pairs, before their split in 2005.
Their separation was closely followed by Brad’s meeting Angelina Jolie later that year, linked for the first time during the filming of Mr & Mrs. Smith, and confirming their relationship shortly after Brad’s divorce from Aniston was finalized.
Brad and Jennifer however have maintained a warm friendship in the years since, with Brad attending Jennifer’s star-studded 50th birthday bash in 2019.
The Friends star is notably in a love-bubble of her own now, with relationship to boyfriend and wellness coach Jim Curtis, 50, confirmed in 2025 with a post for Jim’s birthday. The actor posted an image of the two embracing. "Happy birthday, my love. Cherished," read the caption with a red heart.
Jennifer and Lisa’s conversation revealed only recently they have been able to appreciate Friends’ impact. In speaking with The Times, Lisa admits "there was a genius at work. And whatever any of us do in the future, we will never experience something like that again".
