Original Charlie's Angels star Farrah Fawcett revealed the one rule she had during her marriage to Lee Majors, and it centred around the couple's activity in the bedroom.
The 62-year-old star, who died after a battle with cancer in 2009, was married to The Six Million Dollar Man actor from 1973 until 1982, when they got divorced due to pressures from their equally demanding acting careers.
Before her untimely death, in the late 1970s, Texas-born Farrah opened up about her relationship with Lee and revealed their unconventional secret to a healthy romance.
She explained how she kept intimacy alive in her marriage with a very simple technique, which involved blurring the boundaries between the kitchen table and the couple's bed.
During an interview with The Australian Women’s Weekly in August 1977, Farrah shared: "At the beginning of our marriage, I’d whip up a good meal, and we’d take the food to our bedroom, where it is very cosy.
"After we’d eaten, I would want to start the dishes, but Lee would say, 'Forget about them'. He’d want to kiss and everything."
She added: "When he wanted to go to sleep, I’d have to do the dishes, which would be the worst thing in the world for me. So I told him, 'If you want me in the bedroom, you’ll have to get someone to do the dishes.' He hired a housekeeper the next day."
The star also unveiled why she almost didn't marry the now 86-year-old and claimed he was "rude" when she first met him.
"Lee’s publicist showed my photograph to him, and he called me up and said he’d like to meet me," Farrah explained. She continued: "I was out, but when I got home I found this brusque message from him saying: 'Please tell her I’ll be by at eight to pick her up'.
"That was eight years ago. All I could think of at the time was how rude he was. When he called, I was all prepared to turn him down. But I changed my mind when he said he was sorry. We’ve been together ever since and married nearly three years ago."
50 years of Charlie's Angels
This year marks 50 years since the debut of the crime-drama TV series starring Farrah, Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith and later Cheryl Ladd in season two. Earlier this week, the remaining trio reunited to celebrate the show's legacy and honour Farrah's memory.
The original Charlie’s Angels stars stepped out together for the show’s 50th anniversary celebration at PaleyFest LA, held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and posed side-by-side on the red carpet.
