The British model Katie Price and her ex-husband singer Peter Andre issued a shock statement on Friday 17 years after their divorce.
Taking to their Instagram Stories with a joint message, the former couple revealed they have agreed no longer to speak negatively about one another for the sake of their children.
The former couple, who announced their separation and divorce in 2009, share two children named Junior, 19, and Princess, 17, , said they want to work together as parents in the future.
The post read: "Katie Price and Peter Andre have decided to close the door on the past and move forward into a new chapter with positivity and respect.
"We are both focused on creating a calm and supportive environment for our children.
"We have reached a mutual agreement, both legally and personally confirming that neither of us will speak negatively about the other going forward. This decision reflects a shared commitment to our family and stability.
It continued: "We want to stand united for our children. We are hoping this is a start of a positive relationship. We ask for understanding and support from both the media and the public as we move ahead."
The couple, who met on ITV reality television programme I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, were married for four years, tying the knot in 2005 at Highclere Castle in Hampshire.
Karie also has a son with former Manchester United footballer Dwight Yorke, named Harvey, 23, and two children with third husband Kieran Hayler - Jett, 12, and Bunny, 11.
Earlier this year, Price reportedly married businessman Lee Andrews in Dubai.
Meanwhile, Peter has three children with his current wife, Emily MacDonagh.
Moving on
Their decision to move forward peacefully comes after Katie opened up about their divorce last year.
Talking to Paul C Brunson on his podcast, We Need To Talk she said: "We broke up because he thought I was having an affair with my dressage rider, and I've never slept with him. I just kept my horse there, and I was happy keeping my horse there, and he was married.
"But when me and Pete split, because he used to keep saying, "That's it. I've had enough. I've had enough".
"It got to a point where I went, 'Well [expletive] divorce me.' And I remember the day, because then I flew to the Maldives with the kids.
"That day, I'm at the airport, it's all on Sky News, it wasn't mutual at all. And then I redone a statement saying I don't want to split with Pete, it's Pete that's splitting with me.
"Until this day, me and Pete have never sat down and spoken about it. It's all through lawyers. I've never sat down with him, we probably would've sorted it out but we were kept apart."
