Gethin Jones enjoyed a brief hiatus from Morning Live last week, after jetting to the French Alps with friends. Taking to Instagram on Friday, the TV star shared a series of snaps from his trip to Morzine, a ski resort close to the Swiss border. "A quality few days in Morzine with a top class group 'the padel princesses'," Gethin, 48, penned in the caption. "[The] first time I went to the mountains I raced half pipe and tried a ski jump, this was around 20 years ago!
"I've been skiing a few times since then but decided to get my first lesson this time, and guess what, it really helped. Waiting for the queen of socials @pienmeulensteen to send some reels. Until then, here's my offering!"
Tagged in the photos, fans noted that Gethin had stayed at the Chalet Marialys with several famous faces, including 29-year-old Sky Sports broadcaster, Pien Meulensteen. They were joined by former footballer turned coach Izzy Christiansen and presenter Kyle Walker.
During the trip, which coincided with both Pien's 29th and Gethin's 48th birthdays, the group made sure to celebrate the duo with cake, cards and some champagne, as well as a dip in the hot tub.
Gethin Jones and Helen Skelton romance rumours
Gethin, who appears to be single, rarely discusses his love life; however, there has been ongoing speculation about his relationship with his Morning Live co-star, Helen Skelton. The pair, who joined forces in 2024, have sparked rumours in the past thanks to their on-air chemistry and flirty remarks on the show. Speaking with The Mirror this month, Helen, 42, was quizzed about their relationship. "We just work together, we are not together. No, no, no. We are just work friends," she clarified.

"I've done this job for a long time, and I feel very lucky that every now and again you land on a group of people and a crew that really clicks," she said of her time on Morning Live. "Michelle [Ackerley] and Gethin [Jones] and I have all been friends for years and years. Gethin and I crossed over a lot at Blue Peter, so we've got a lot of the same reference points."
