David Beckham has hailed his wife Victoria Beckham as an 'inspiration' to their four children on Mother's Day amid the ongoing family estrangement with their eldest son, Brooklyn. The former professional footballer, 50, shared a throwback photo from when Victoria was pregnant and gushed about how grateful he was for their family with sons Brooklyn, 27, Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21, and daughter Harper, 14.
"Happy Mother's Day to the most amazing mummy," David penned on Sunday. "You are an inspiration in all the ways a mum should be to our 4 amazing children," he continued.
"We love you so much and I'm so thankful for the family we have created. Have a special Mother's Day because if there's one person that deserves it it's you [pink heart emoji]. I love you."
"I love you all so much [red heart emoji]," Victoria sweetly replied to the tribute in the comments section. David's Mother's Day posts did not feature any of his four children.
Family rift with Brooklyn
This Mother's Day marks the first since Brooklyn addressed year-long speculation of a feud with his family in a scathing January social media post. On 20 January, Brooklyn made several bombshell claims about his parents, including several about his mother Victoria, as he declared that he does "not want to reconcile" with his family.
"For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family," he claimed. "The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into."
Brooklyn alleged that his parents had tried to "ruin" his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz, since before their April 2022 wedding and claimed that his mother had "hijacked" his first dance with Nicola, among other allegations.
"In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife, but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life," he claimed.
He also alleged that his mum had "cancelled" on making his wife Nicola Peltz's wedding dress at the "eleventh hour" and "went so far as to call me 'evil' because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola's Naunni at our table, because they both didn't have their husbands."
David praises the 'incredible' women in his life
David extended the Mother's Day well wishes to two other important women in his life: his mother, Sandra, and his mother-in-law, Jackie Adams.
"Happy Mother's Day to my mum [pink heart emoji] someone who always has been there for me," he wrote on his Instagram Stories with a throwback photo alongside his mother. "Love you mum x," he added.
David gave a shout-out to Victoria's "amazing" mum, Jackie, with a photo of his wife when she was younger with her mum. "Love you three incredible women," he captioned another photo of Sandra, Victoria and Jackie.
