Sharon Osbourne, 73, had the best response when asked about her daughter, Kelly, calling out recent cruel comments about her appearance online. The 41-year-old penned an emotional message, hitting back at the body-shaming earlier this month and said she wouldn't allow herself to be "dehumanised in such a way". While walking a red carpet on 15 March, Sharon backed her daughter's response with a pointed remark of her own.

When asked by Extra at Elton John AIDS Foundation's 34th annual Academy Awards viewing party if she was "so proud of Kelly standing up for herself against the bullies", Sharon replied: "Sure". She added: "Listen, people that give it out have to get it back."

Sharon walked the red carpet in West Hollywood with her son Jack Osbourne, 40, who recently welcomed his fifth child, a baby girl named Ozzy, with his wife Aree Gearhart. The couple's newborn daughter is a sweet tribute to Jack's late father, Black Sabbath frontman, Ozzy Osbourne.

Kelly addresses cruel comments

Kelly broke her silence on the "disgusting" body-shaming comments in February when she posted a screenshot to her Instagram Stories of one cruel comment which compared her to a "dead body" and described her as "too thin and fragile".

"Literally can't believe how disgusting some human beings truly are! No one deserves this sort of abuse!" the star responded.

After attending the BRIT Awards on 28 February, Kelly addressed comments on her appearance in a candid message. "There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something. Kicking me while I'm down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most," she wrote to her Instagram Stories.

"None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character. I'm currently going through the hardest time in my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won't sit here and allow myself to be dehumanized in such a way."

Kelly opens up about grief

Kelly attended the BRIT Awards alongside her mother Sharon to accept the posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of her late father Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away last July aged 76. The 41-year-old has been open about her struggle with grief in the months since, penning a heartbreaking poem in February - seven months on from her dad's passing.

"Dear Grief, I hate you. I hate the way you slip into ordinary moments and ruin them. A song, a smell, a quiet room," she wrote. "Suddenly I can't breathe. You turn memories into knives. You make the world keep spinning while mine stands still."

At the end of the lengthy poem, she admitted: "Grief is heavy. Grief is cruel. Grief is relentless. And l am so tired of the pain."

When asked at the Grammy Awards about how she was coping, Kelly said she was "not doing so great." She continued: "It's the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life. But I'm getting through, and we're doing everything we can to try and just live in his legacy and be happy."
