Congratulations are in order for former Hear'Say star Suzanne Shaw, who has just become a first-time grandmother! The 44-year-old pop star celebrated the newest addition to their blended family with an emotional poem written for her son Corey, 21, who has just become a dad.

"Something beautiful, something true, My baby boy Corey, became a father to a precious son, wrapped softly in blue," she began. The singer reflected on how her son had "changed me forever inside, gave my life a deeper meaning, filled my heart with pride," before gushing about her grandson, who she said she was the "greatest gift" and she would love him "unconditionally".

"Wow what a day! Lost in pure love," Suzanne captioned a collection of photos with her new grandson as she reunited for the milestone family moment with her famous ex and Corey's dad, English singer and actor Darren Day, 57. Darren shared the same poem on social media with heartwarming photos taken from the hospital after his grandson came into the world.

Back in the early 2000s, Suzanne found love with West End theatre star Darren Day, who is 13 years her senior.

Darren was engaged to Adele Vellacott at the time he first met Suzanne while both touring on the musical production of Summer Holiday.

Darren and Suzanne's relationship only lasted around 18 months from 2003 to 2005. But during that time, they even got engaged and welcomed their son Corey in December 2004. Their romance came to an end in 2005, shortly after Corey was born.

Two decades later, and after Darren Day's marriage to actress Stephanie Dooley from 2007 to 2019, the exes appear to be on friendly terms as co-parents, and now grandparents.

"Colton - I love you to infinity and back, you are perfect," Suzanne gushed about her grandson, before taking a quip at her ex. "I might not have reading glasses quite yet (like your grandad @darrendayofficial [winky face and laughing emojis]), but can’t wait to teach you handstands and cartwheels."

Darren said the birth of his grandson was "one of the greatest days of life".

"Grandad loves you so much…and is actually old enough to be a Grandparent, unlike Nanny! @suzi_shaw," he added.

Not long after her split from Darren, Suzanne found love again with British radio DJ Jason King. The couple first met on the reality TV series, Britain's Worst Celebrity Driver, and from there, their relationship blossomed into romance.

"I told him I wanted to take it slowly," Suzanne recalled the early days in their relationship to The Mirror in 2012.

"I said: 'If you have a relationship I come as a package, me and my son.' But Jason was brilliant. He's so good with Corey."

The couple put a ring on their relationship in August 2008, announcing they were engaged. Suzanne and Jason tied the knot by the sea in Christchurch, Dorset in June 2009.

Sadly, their marriage didn't last, with the couple going their separate ways less than three years later in February 2012.

Suzanne was in a long-term relationship with businessman Sam Greenfield for 12 years. After a whirlwind 12-month romance, the pair got engaged in 2014 and welcomed a son named Rafferty together the following year.

"He is everything I've ever wanted in a man," Suzanne told Best Quality Designer Handbag exclusively about her partner when revealing their engagement.

"Strong, protective, sensible, intelligent, affectionate, good-looking – he ticks all the boxes. I now understand the term, 'My other half.'"

She continued: 'He hasn't had the drama I've had but can still empathise. I am, at heart, a laid-back person; complications come to me. But I don't want the drama any more. I'll keep the drama to the stage."

But in February 2026, Suzanne tearfully revealed she had split from Sam after more than a decade together in an emotional video posted to her Instagram. The star admitted it had been "really tough".

"My family are and always will be my priority. It was just time to address my current circumstances for my own healing and because of the nature of how I use my platform for wellbeing, mental health and self-love," she said.
