Full Metal Jacket star Matthew Modine, 67, looks so youthful in red carpet appearance

Matthew Modine proved that timeless style and effortless charisma never go out of fashion as he stepped out at the 2026 Garden of Laughs event at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

The 67-year-old actor looked remarkably youthful on the red carpet, dressed in a sleek navy suit paired with a crisp pale blue shirt. 

Keeping his look clean and classic, Matthew opted for minimal styling, allowing his natural confidence and signature silver hair to take centre stage.

With his relaxed posture and easy smile, he exuded the quiet confidence of a seasoned Hollywood star.

The Garden of Laughs event, a comedy benefit show raising money for the Garden of Dreams Foundation, was held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Monday and featured a stacked lineup of comedians, including Hasan Minhaj and John Oliver, as well as famous presenters, like Matthew, SNL star Kenan Thompson, and more.

Another celebrity that The Full Metal Jacket favourite was seen alongside at the star-studded event was John Turturro, decades after the pair first rose to prominence in the same era that produced cult classics like The Big Lebowski, a reminder of the enduring legacy of their generation of actors.

Matthew Modine remains one of the most recognisable faces in film and television, with a career spanning more than four decades.

He is perhaps best known for his breakout role in Full Metal Jacket (1987), as well as performances in Cutthroat Island (1995) and Birdy (1984), where he starred opposite Nicolas Cage in the story of two friends returning home from the Vietnam War.

Born on March 22, 1959, Matthew began his career like many actors of his generation, appearing in ABC Afterschool Specials before landing a string of defining roles in the early 1980s.

His work in films such as Vision Quest cemented his status as a rising star, and he has continued to evolve ever since.

In recent years, he has introduced himself to a new generation of fans through appearances in Netflix’s Stranger Things, Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises and the Oscar-winning epic Oppenheimer.

He also recently appeared in all eight episodes of The Better Sister alongside Elizabeth Banks and Jessica Biel.

And it seems Matthew is showing no signs of slowing down. According to his IMDb, he is set to appear in the upcoming blockbuster Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, due for release in 2027, and is currently filming Vivien & The Florist, in which he plays Jacob Penn.
