"I'm not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today's age,” Simone wrote on her Instagram Stories. “But almost dying wasn't on my bingo card earlier this week.”

"This was one of, if not the scariest, experience of my life. Especially since Jonathan  was in Indy for practices," she continued, concluding: "I've been in bed resting this week, I'll explain sooner or later, but s/o to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers."

"Right now, I'm still focusing on healing physically and mentally because doing the Olympics, it kind of takes a toll on your body," Simone shared in April 2025, nine months after the 2024 Games.

"I haven't got that much time because I've sacrificed so much to hang out with my family, my friends, my husband and stuff like that."

However, regardless of whether Simone competes or not, the athlete will be at the Games as it will be held in the US,  "which is so exciting."

She shared: "I'm really enjoying my time off before I decide if I want to go back to the gym and compete. A lot of people think it's just a one-year commitment, but it truly is the four years leading up to the Olympics."
