As Harry Styles gears up to break his three-year hiatus and take back the stage at the BRIT Awards this weekend in Manchester's Co-Op Live arena, the former One Direction heartthrob let fans in on the pre-performance snack that keeps him fuelled all show long.

The 32-year-old singer admitted he couldn't get enough of a certain creamy watery snack that most of us have lying around our own fridges, and the internet was obsessed.

It was revealed during an interview with the Watermelon Sugar hitmaker that the one thing he could eat "remarkable amounts" of was none other than the humble yoghurt.

He told Brittany Broski on her YouTube show, Royal Court, that he has a talent for eating copious amounts of yoghurt, so much so that it "shocks" his friends when they witness him snacking on the dairy product.

The American influencer asked the X Factor contestant what he would do if he had to audition for Britain's Got Talent without singing, to which he replied: "I can eat quite a lot of yoghurt. I eat remarkable amounts of yoghurt; it shocks my friends, it shocks them!"

But why is one of the most recognisable men on the planet so obsessed with the fermented food, and how does it help him perform to the best of his ability? HELLO! asked the experts to decode Harry's favourite snack, so we can all take notes.

A 'winning combo' pre-stage snack

Before heading on stage to perform his hits to thousands of screaming fans, whether he realises it or not, Harry is fuelling his body with the perfect amount of electrolytes, carbohydrates and healthy fats.

Hannah Alderson, a BANT-registered nutritionist and hormone specialist, spoke exclusively to HELLO! and broke down the Matilda singer's eating habits. She revealed: "Live full-fat yoghurt is a great choice for a pre-stage snack as you've got a winning combo of high protein, fat and a little carb and some live bacteria which can support the gut."

The expert continued: "It's also pretty easy on the digestive system, depending what you serve it with. It's got a pretty high water content too and the voice performs best when the vocal folds are well hydrated.

"As yoghurt contains a high water content plus electrolytes such as calcium and potassium, it can play a nice role in helping fluid balance. Hydration supports smoother vocal fold vibration! There is a myth that dairy can drive up mucus, which isn't ideal for performers, but this is not backed by science."

Hannah concluded: "The high protein content will be great to support endurance for long shows and muscle recovery. The natural sugars provide accessible fuel for muscles and the brain, supporting sustained energy across a long set -  mixing in a few oats could help boost up the carb content."

Harry's disco-ing occasionally in Manchester

Following the announcement of his fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, Harry revealed he would be performing some of his new tracks at the British music awards taking place this Saturday in the northern city.

It will be his first performance in three years after wrapping his wildly successful arena tour, Love On Tour, which finished in 2023. He last sang at the award show that same year when he serenaded London with a rendition of As It Was
