The 2026 Winter Olympics kicks off in Milan, Italy on Friday February 6, with a lavish opening ceremony featuring star-studded performances from Mariah Carey and Andrea Bocelli, 1300 performers, 1200 volunteers, and almost 3000 athletes.
The event is the first in Olympics history to be officially co-hosted by two cities; Milan will primarily host the ice events, and the remaining events will be hosted in clusters around Cortina and the Valtellina and Fiemme valleys, with the traditional athletes' parade for the opening ceremony spread across four locations: Milan, Cortina, Predazzo and Livigno.
Ahead of the opening ceremony, which airs at 2 pm ET, stars from across the globe are showing up in style to one of the fashion capitals of the world. Take a look below to see which athletes, actors, musicians, and more arrived in Italy to celebrate the Olympic Games.
The Pitt'sKatherine LaNasa and her husband, GrantShow, were all love on the red carpet. The actress has had a busy 2026, with the second season of her medical drama premiering. She's also been nominated at several award shows.
To the opening ceremony, she wore a black and white patterned suit with her hair pulled back.
This is the first Olympic Games since 2006 that Shaun White, 39, has not competed in. The three-time gold medalist officially retired after the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing. But that doesn't mean he can't show up to support the athletes.
Aside from attending the opening ceremonies, Shaun will be an expert commentator for NBC Sports. "I am excited to take it all in," he told Olympics.com. "[To] see the different events, like ice skating, skiing, half pipe, big air, obviously snowboarding. I'm just going try to see everything honestly, that's my goal."
Usher showed up to the opening ceremony red carpet in style. The "Yeah" singer wore an all denim outfit, brown boots, and a sherpa lined Team USA jacket.
Donatella Versace is welcoming the world to her town. The iconic designer walked the red carpet in a red dress, black tights, and a pair of black pumps. While Donatella heads one of Italy's premiere fashion labels, the Italian team is being dressed by Giorgio Armani.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 star arrived in Italy for the opening ceremony. Stanley Tucci wore a white turtleneck, black jacket, and his signature black glasses. Aside from starring in some of the biggest films, Stanley hosts the travel and food show, Searching for Italy, where he travels around the country eating the best food it haves to offer.
Marisa Tomei, whose family comes from Italy, arrived at the opening ceremony in a black, quilted jacket and a black skirt. The actress is set to star in the upcoming film, [Expletive] Valentine's Day.
MaggieRogers looked chic in her white, pinstripe suit, and black beret. The "Alaska" singer is currently touring and promoting her 2024 album, Don't Forget Me.
ZlatanIbrahimovic, the former Swedish footballer, and his partner, HelenaSeger, arrived at the opening ceremony in coordinating black looks. Zlatan had a special role in the Olympics, carrying the torch through the streets of Milan ahead of the opening ceremonies.
