The Princess of Wales attended a ceremony at the Cenotaph in central London on Saturday to mark Anzac Day, where Australians and New Zealanders who have lost their lives in conflict are commemorated. Princess Kate put on a poignant display, placing a wreath down as a mark of respect.

After the event, a video was shared to Prince William and Princess Kate's Instagram page, showing a montage of clips from the engagement. The post racked up over 90,000 likes and 900 comments. Many praised Kate for her lone appearance, and lots heaped compliments on her immaculate and elegant outfit, but a select few couldn't help but notice her effortless skill - how she walks in towering heels.

Over the years, we've seen the royal step out in everything from sporty trainers to pin-sharp stilettos, and it was the latter she opted for for Saturday's engagement. Her navy heels perfectly matched her coat, and despite the sizable heel height, she managed to step up onto the cenotaph to lay the wreath with ease.

"She does it all with such grace and dignity… in four inch heels, no less," penned one follower and another added: "A beautiful service to honor those who gave all. Lest we forget. I can't help but watch how stunning she is - the future Queen, but how on earth does she walk in those shoes!? So elegant." A third simply asked: "How can you walk in heels?"

Kate's favourite heels

The heels in question are believed to be the Gianvito Rossi's Gianvito 105mm Pointed Toe Pumps - a trusted style we've seen the royal lady rock before. However, her go-to shoe brand appears to be Jimmy Choo, and she often dons the 'Romy', a classically-shaped heeled pump. She wore them to her youngest son Prince Louis's christening in 2018, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding the same year.

The Princess chose a new Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen double-breasted coat dress in navy for the occasion. It was a real fashion statement that featured white and navy sharp lapels and padded shoulders. It was paired beautifully with a matching Jane Taylor London headpiece, as well as those aforementioned amazing heels to finish off the look.

Navy appears to be the perfect colour for the royal as we saw her in another incredible blue look for the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey just last month.
