Jacob Elordi has perfected his Hollywood smile, but on Thursday, he added a new accessory to his teeth in homage to his role of Heathcliff in Emerald Fennell's adaptation of Emily Brontë's 1847 novel, Wuthering Heights.

The 28-year-old stepped out at the Sydney premiere with his co-star, Margot Robbie, who plays Catherine Earnshaw, sporting a gold tooth alongside his pearly whites.

Jacob's bold look appears to be a nod to his portrayal of the anti-hero, who rocks a gold tooth in the film.

The Australian actor proudly showed off his gold accessory as he posed for photos at the State Theatre, wearing a blue double-breasted suit, a navy tie, and white loafers.

Margot, meanwhile, continued her reign on the red carpet and looked incredible in an Ashi Studio Couture ivory corseted gown that featured a hand-painted bodice, sheer tulle sleeves, and a matching floor-sweeping, layered tulle skirt.

Jacob and Margot formed an intense bond while filming the Wuthering Heights adaptation, and neither of them has shied away from expressing their admiration for each other.

At the start of their press tour, Margot sent the internet into a spin when she told Fandango that she feels "co-dependent" with the Euphoria actor.

She said: "I'm so codependent with people I work with, and I love everyone so much, and I'm always that person who's so devastated when a job's over, and I never want it to end. I think I developed that quite quickly with Jacob, too."

She continued to say that Jacob would always be on set behind the scenes watching her, something she thought director Emerald had "asked him to do."

The Wolf of Wall Street star explained: "I don't know if Emerald told you to do this or you did this," she said while addressing the Frankenstein star, "but I remember the first couple days on set, he would just be always in the vicinity where I was, but like in a corner, watching Cathy."

"I didn't tell him to do that," Emerald said, adding, "I actually had to ask him to leave," which was met with laughter from the rest of the cast.

Margot added that if Jacob wasn't around, she would feel "really unnerved and unmoored. And I felt quite lost, like a kid without their blanket or something." Jacob then added that they had developed a "mutual obsession with each other."

Wuthering Heights will be released on February 13. It was announced in July 2024 that Emerald, known for Saltburn and Promising Young Woman, would be directing the new version of the classic, which has previously been made into several feature films and miniseries over the years.

Already the film has faced criticism over casting choices, costuming and deviation from the original Wuthering Heights novel. One particular point of backlash was Jacob being cast as Heathcliff, who in the book is described as "dark-skinned."

The casting director, Kharmel Cochrane, addressed the backlash over the film's casting choices, telling Deadline: "You really don't need to be accurate. It's just a book. That is not based on real life. It's all art."
