The Princess of Wales looked resplendent on Wednesday as she stepped out at the Nigerian State Banquet. Displaying an outfit which oozed pure regal elegance, she donned a new bespoke gown, designed by Andrew Gn.
The garment featured a high neck, billowing long sleeves, and a full-length skirt. This is the second time she has worn the Singaporean designer's creations; she also chose to wear the brand in 2023 at Trooping the Colour.
Kate's gown was in the same shade as Nigeria's green and white flag
Many noted that Kate's dress was the same shade as Nigeria's green and white flag. This choice emulates the late Queen Elizabeth II, who often incorporated national emblems or colours into her outfits.
Although this dress was created especially for Kate, the same style was seen before, four years ago. Queen Rania of Jordan wore an almost identical style alongside King Abdullah II when the royal couple hosted a state dinner for King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden in 2022.
The mother of four delighted onlookers in her flowing Andrew Gn gown. It had the same floor-length hem and billowing sleeves, which were gathered at the cuff. The only difference was the colour - Kate chose green, whereas Rania's style was designed in a deep violet. The royal also added a statement belt at the waist, which featured an opulent, Baroque buckle.

All about Andrew Gn
According to his official website, Andrew was raised in Singapore before coming to the UK, where he studied at the prestigious Central Saint Martins in London, before attending the Domus Academy in Milan. He later came to Paris to work as an assistant to high-end fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro before starting his own brand.
His greatest inspiration is his love of art and antiques. "A brand like ours is the absolute opposite to fast fashion," he told Prestige in 2020.
Andrew has remarked that his designs are the "opposite to fast fashion"
He added, "From the beginning, I've not designed with a specific geographical market in mind, but for any woman around the world who loves beauty and refinement. This is how my house has grown such an international clientele, attracting celebrities and their stylists from the West as well as the East," Andrew noted.
