Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke and Donald Faison are back in their Scrubs.
The beloved Bill Lawrence sitcom, which premiered in 2001 and aired for nine seasons, until 2010, is back for a milestone tenth season, a nine-episode reboot premiering Wednesday, February 25 on ABC at 8pm, with new episodes airing weekly and available the next day on Hulu.
The first season of the reboot operates as if the Scrubs canon ended in season eight, disregarding the spin-off style ninth season.
The cast reunited in Los Angeles February 23 for the premiere. The reboot's cast includes Judy Reyes and John C. McGinley, who are coming back as recurring characters, the former, currently starring in High Potential, appearing in four episodes, while the latter, starring in HBO's upcoming Rooster, appearing in three.
The new nine episodes does not however include original cast member Ken Jenkins, 85, who played Bob Kelso in all nine seasons. He retired from acting some years ago, but would reportedly return for a second season, should the reboot be renewed.
There are also new (but familiar) faces joining the series, including Vanessa Bayer (Saturday Night Live) as a wellness guru, Joel Kim Booster (Sweethearts) as an attending doctor, plus Rachel Bilson (Heart of Dixie), Andy Ridings (All My Children) and Lisa Gilroy (Shrinking) as guest stars, as well as Ava Bunn (A Man on the Inside), Jacob Dudman (The Choral), and David Gridley (High Potential).
