Calling all crime drama fans! The hit French-Canadian police procedural Saint-Pierre has officially been renewed for a third season. If you haven't yet seen the first two chapters, there has never been a better time to tune in.
Starring Death in Paradise favourite Joséphine Jobert and Jack Ryan's Allan Hawco, the series follows two mismatched detectives forced to work together on an idyllic, isolated island.
With its sweeping backdrops and dark mysteries unfolding within a tight-knit community, Saint-Pierre is the perfect watch for fans of the BBC drama Shetland. Much like DI Calder and DI Tosh, lead detectives Donny 'Fitz' Fitzpatrick (Hawco) and Geneviève 'Arch' Archambault (Jobert) initially butt heads before settling into a winning partnership.

Everything we know about season three
The show's renewal was officially confirmed by Deadline, with filming set to commence this July across Newfoundland and the stunning archipelago of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.
The drama, which first premiered on Canadian network CBC in 2025 before debuting on U&Alibi in the UK, will return with 12 new episodes.
While specific plot details are being kept firmly under wraps, series creators Allan Hawco and Robina Lord-Stafford teased that the upcoming episodes will build on the momentum of the first two seasons, promising "even more of the mystery, unexpected twists, and character dynamics that make this world so special."
Meanwhile, Ava Knight, Director of Acquisitions at international distributors Fifth Season added that season three "raises the stakes in every sense with bold new investigations, evolving relationships and unexpected twists that expand the world of the series in compelling new ways."
What is Saint-Pierre about?
Hailed as "excellent" by viewers, the series kicks off when Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Inspector Donny 'Fitz' Fitzpatrick (Hawco) is exiled to Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon – a small French territory just off the Canadian coast – after digging too deep into a local politician's corrupt activities.
His arrival disrupts the life of Deputy Chief Geneviève 'Arch' Archambault (Jobert), a Parisian transplant in Saint-Pierre for her own interesting reasons.
The synopsis continues: "Saint-Pierre is a police procedural with French star Josephine Jobert as Arch and Canadian star Allan Hawco as Fitz, and James Purefoy rounding out the stellar team.
"As if by fate, these two seasoned officers - with very different policing skills and approaches - are forced together to solve unique and exciting crimes. Although the islands seem like a quaint tourist destination, the idyllic façade conceals the worst kind of criminal activity which tends to wash up on its beautiful shores."
It concludes: "At first at odds and suspicious of each other, Arch and Fitz soon discover that they are better together… a veritable crime-fighting force."
