Dennis Waterman had several major programmes on ITV, including The Sweeney, Minder and New Tricks, with the star even singing the theme tunes for some of his biggest shows.
In The Sweeney, Dennis played DS George Carter, the 'good cop' of the Flying Squad, while in Minder, he portrayed former professional boxer Terry McCann, and in New Tricks, the star played retired police officer, Gerry Standing.
Alongside his major shows, Dennis also appeared in the likes of Night Train for Inverness, The Pirates of Blood River, Scars of Dracula, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Never Too Late.
Away from his life of fame, Dennis, who died at the age of 74 in 2022, was married four times, including to Penny Dixon, Pam Flint and actresses Patricia Maynard and Rula Lenska. His marriage to Rula ended after she accused him of domestic violence, a charge that Dennis accepted, including on an appearance of Piers Morgan's Life Stories.
From his marriage to Patricia, the star welcomed two daughters, Hannah and Julia, with Hannah becoming a famous actress, even appearing alongside her father in New Tricks.

Hannah Waterman
Dennis shared Hannah with his second wife, Patricia Maynard. Born in 1975, Hannah made her acting debut in an episode of EastEnders, where she played HIV patient Maria. She returned to the show in 2000, playing Laura Beale, who went on to marry the soap's iconic character, Ian Beale. Hannah remained on the show until she was killed off in 2004 by accidentally falling down the stairs following an argument with Janine Butcher.
Hannah also appeared in the likes of Tess of the D'Urbervilles, Peak Practice, The Bill, Doctors, Bali 2002 and New Tricks, the latter of which she appeared in alongside her father, playing his character's daughter.
© WireImageFollowing her exit from EastEnders, the actress expressed an interest in acting alongside Dennis, telling the Daily Mirror: "I've never worked with him before, and he's not unhappy I'm leaving."
Following Dennis' death in 2022, Hannah shared a black-and-white photo of her father holding her as a baby and said: "My Dad! I loved him."

However, the couple divorced in 2014, with Ricky telling Best Quality Designer Handbag following the split that while it initially came as a "real jolt", he has since accepted that the pair had "grown apart".
Hannah then found love with actor Huw Higginson, who is most famous for his role as PC George Garfield in The Bill. Huw has also appeared in the likes of By Any Means, The Sarah Jane Adventures and Wentworth. In 2011, the couple welcomed a son and two years later, they moved to Australia.
