Some people binge reality TV. Here at H! Fashion, we binge runway shows, backstage chaos and the frenetic frenzy of chasing down that perfect blazer.
So when the rumour mill churned into action with whispers that The Devil Wears Prada sequel was in the works, we didn't just take interest - oh we were invested from the off.
For those of us who are lucky enough to work in fashion, the original film wasn't just entertainment - it was part of the early 00s onslaught of classic romcoms that sold a fashion journalism dream that no doubt shaped many of us in the H! Fashion office to pursue the careers we have today.
Think the Kate Hudson classic 10 Things I Hate About You, plus Confessions of a Shopaholic, Ugly Betty. And my favourite of all 13 Going on 30, the Jennifer Garner time travel flick, which is very excitingly getting a Netflix reboot starring Emily Bader and Logan Lerman.
When it comes to The Devil Wears Prada - looking at the flick through a 2026 lens, there are of course aspects of the film that haven't held up so well (Nate, you were a terrible boyfriend.)
And fashion has changed. The impact that digital publishing has had on the print industry is undeniable. Working in fashion feels faster and the goal posts have undoubtedly moved. But the whole wheel stills runs on coffee, chaos and those impossible deadlines.
So as we return to that glossy, cutthroat world, we're hoping for more than nostalgic. We want evolution - with impeccable tailoring of course.
So here's what the H! Fashion team are hoping that The Devil Wears Prada 2 will cough up when we flock to the cinema on May 1.

"Did Emily's taxi cab incident leave long lasting injuries?"
"Honestly so much. Where are the twins now? Are they nepo babies working at Runway? Did Emily's taxi cab incident leave long lasting injuries? God forbid she can no longer wear heels. Will she adopt her iconic but wildly problematic diet of eating a single cube of cheese ahead of the Met Gala?"
"All that aside, I'm of course readily awaiting to see what fashion picks and brand Miranda deems 'on trend' and whether or not Andy still owns that cerulean sweater?

"I’d love to see more epic makeover scenes"
I’ve made it no secret that I am not a fan of sequels, remakes or reboots - and considering the iconic legacy of The Devil’s Wears Prada, I’ve been quietly praying that the 2026 rendition is everything we hope it will be."
"Personally, I’d love to see more epic makeover scenes à la Nigel (the nostalgic 2010s kind that Wild Child and St Trinian's bestowed upon us), some serious side eye and dead-pan British humour from Emily, and Miranda grappling with a ‘woke’ Gen Z fashion audience who would likely cancel her in minutes. As for the clothes? Give me colour, texture and volume and aplomb - hopefully with some stunning archival gems thrown into the mix."

"Has she sacked off those rubbish mates?"
"So number one question on mine and everyones mind is where is that awful boyfriend now and has she sacked off those rubbish mates? Number two is that I need to see Stanley Tucci more - his fashion I have missed dearly!"
Finally and obviously I'm here for all the clothes and outfits, I particularly NEED to know where Miranda is going in the Dries Van Noten Autumn/Winter RTW 25-26 Jacket and praying it's in more scene that just one!"

"The Valentino Rockstud pumps were an interesting choice"
"Honestly, I’m a little sceptical about a sequel. It’s not uncommon for the second instalment of an iconic film to fall short of the original’s cultural impact. I’m hoping this feels like an evolution of the first film rather than just a completely new narrative altogether. Give me a perpetually sour-faced, short-tempered Miranda Priestly, Emily Blunt’s perfectly timed British sarcasm, an update on Miranda’s (presumably still bratty) twins, and plenty of scene-stealing, sass-loaded Stanley Tucci."
"I'm sad that we won't see the return of Andy's awful boyfriend Nate Cooper - a clip of him watching Andy killing it with her career would have been incredibly satisfying. On the fashion front, I’m excited but also intrigued. The Valentino Rockstud pumps from circa 2010, spotted on Miranda in an early teaser, were an interesting choice - is Miranda stuck in the past, or is it a deliberate nod to fashion’s ongoing obsession with revival? We’ll soon find out. Either way, I’m hoping for plenty of “wow” moments (à la Andy Sachs’ Chanel boots in the original film), and looks that feel as instantly iconic as they did the first time around.
