Sound the fashion klaxon as a new season has begun! New York has just kicked off fashion month proceedings with shows beginning in the first of the Big Four, the others of course being style hubs London, Milan and Paris.
Attendees at New York this season can expect spectacular showcases from haute heavyweights like Michael Kors, Khaite, The Row and Ralph Lauren, whose preppy, clean-cut aesthetics perfectly lean into the hyper-commercial, minimalist fashion scene that the East Coast metropolis champions.
That's not to say that NYC is without its sartorial quirks. Those who lean towards more whimsical style have Wiederhoeft, Sandy Liang and Cult Gaia to look forward to, brands that promise unmatched runway looks brimming with colour, texture and cutting-edge design.
In terms of the attendees, Manhattan is primed for a celebrity takeover. Hollywood insiders emerge en masse from their winter-long hibernation to take their prestigious place on the all-important FROW.
