It has been confirmed by the palace that His Majesty King Charles III and his wife Queen Camilla will be going on a US state visit at the end of the month. After their time stateside, they will make a trip to Bermuda, but while on American soil, where will the royal couple be staying?

Charles and Camilla will be in Washington, D.C. to meet with President Trump to mark the 250th anniversary of American Independence, and "celebrate the historic connections" between the UK and US. While details of the trip have not been released, it has been stated that the royals will attend a state dinner at the White House.

The monarch has an array of properties in the UK to call home, but while he is overseas, he won't have access to a palace or castle. Instead, a range of high-security options for the royals and their team will be made available. Firstly, it is possible that Charles will stay at the White House – the second and third floors of the residence inside the White House are where the guest accommodation is. There is even a room called the 'Queen’s Bedroom' named after queens who have stayed there in the past.

Alternatively, the British Ambassador's Residence in Washington could be a potential place to stay, for security reasons. It is an English country house style, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, so it is somewhere Charles would feel right at home. In 1939, King George VI was the first British head of state to visit the residence.

Because the upcoming visit has been surrounded in a lot of controversy, due to the Iran war as well as the ongoing Epstein investigation, a secret accommodation for the royals away from these busy buildings may be sought. It has been confirmed that King and Queen Camilla will not be able to meet with Epstein survivors during their trip. Best Quality Designer Handbag understands that this is due to the ongoing police investigations into matters related to Epstein. But what about a family visit?...

Will King Charles meet with his son Prince Harry in the US?

Prince Harry moved stateside in 2020, and he has only seen his father, King Charles, a handful of times since, the last being six months ago, Despite being in the same country once again, a source close to the Duke of Sussex has confirmed that Harry wouldn't be travelling to Washington, D.C. to reunite with his father.

Camilla isn't a fan of flying

Camilla will be by her husband's side for this important state visit, but sometimes she declines the offer of an overseas visit – for one significant reason. The royal has a fear of flying and she's been very open about her issue in the past. As a long-standing sufferer of aerophobia, she even cut short a visit to Australia in April 2018, with a Clarence House spokesman saying at the time: "The Duchess does not like flying but I think she has to sometimes embrace that fear." A flight from London to Washington is around eight hours.
