Jack Nicholson has an impressive property portfolio worth in the region of $100 million, but his main residence is a stunningly impressive home in one of the affluent area's of Hollywood. The One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest actor bought the plush residence on Mulholland Drive in Beverly Hills in 1969 and he likes to call it "Bad Boy Drive."

Jack paid $5 million for the home at the time and it's now worth more than double. The star was so keen to make the most of the high levels of privacy the property offers that in recent years he even bought neighbouring houses on the estate – one of which belonged to fellow Hollywood legend, Marlon Brando.

The pair worked together on the film The Missouri Breaks and formed a great friendship. Marlon and Jack were neighbors until Marlon's death in 2004.

Jack's home also has a private pool with plenty of outdoor seating and loungers for when family and friends visit.

We don't often get a glimpse inside his home but his daughter, Lorraine, did share a snap inside one room of the house on her Instagram.

Jack's other properties include  a stunning  70-acre ranch in Malibu with ocean views which features a tennis court, putting green, pool, a grotto-style spa, and a separate caretaker home.

He also owns a beachfront home in Kailua, Hawaii, and a Newberry House in Aspen.  According to his biography written by Dennis McDougal, Jack bought a previous property in Aspen, but the television reception was insufficient, meaning he was unable to watch his beloved LA Lakers' NBA games, so he packed his belongings and quickly moved into another property in the area, a Victorian home made up of wooden structures that cost him, $555,000.

Jack's private home was redeveloped and renovated after he moved out. According to Aspen Times, the 15,000-square-foot house was sold by the actor to alcohol heiress Ellen Bronfman Hauptman for a cool $11 million.

After undergoing significant remodelling in 2015, the house grew in value tremendously.  More recently, Jack's former home was sold to professional hockey player turned successful business mogul Patrick Dovigi for almost $60 million in September last year.

Though Jack hasn't been a resident for over a decade, one old photograph shows how his former home, appropriately, resembled a stylish ski lodge inside.
