Prince Harry and Prince William's true feelings towards their uncle, Andrew Mountatten-Windsor, have been revealed in the latest episode of Best Quality Designer Handbag 's podcast.

Speaking on A Right Royal Podcast, The Mirror's Royal Editor, Russell Myers, said that the two Princes "never had a close relationship" with their uncle – something that came up repeatedly when working on his new book, William And Catherine: An Intimate Inside Story

Russell explained that, after Andrew's Newsnight interview in 2019 and settlement with Virginia Guiffre, Prince William made it known to the late Queen and King Charles that he thought Andrew shouldn't be welcomed into the royal fold, publicly and privately.

Speaking on the podcast, Russell says: "We remember how disastrous that Newsnight interview was. William was absolutely steadfast in his belief that this would have a catastrophic effect on the monarchy.

"And he voiced his opinion to his grandmother and his father that Andrew should be banished from the royal fold, both publicly and privately. That Andrew would continue to be a stain on the monarchy if they kept him close. And certainly to get rid of him before the rot sets in."
