Prince William made headlines when he tried his hand at customer service on Thursday, taking orders and creating pasties for Gear Farm Pasty Company in Helston.

During the visit, William got stuck in the kitchen and even took an order over the phone. Now, HELLO! can reveal that William took home pasties for his wife, the Princess of Wales and their three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, ten, and Prince Louis, seven.

HELLO! caught up with Frances Combellack, who works at the shop. She said, "We made a pasty for each of the family members with an initial on it and a crown. He took them home to his family, but said he wasn't sure if they would make it home; he might have to eat them on the way home!"

Frances continued: "I suppose he’s going to go home and show Kate what he made. He was kind of like: 'Oh, I wish my wife were here to help, she would be a lot better at it. He said that his looked like some kind of crab, but we think he did a very good job because it’s not an easy thing to do, especially for your first attempt. So he did very well!"

Surprise, surprise

Frances was also writing down the order for the future King, who was taking an order over the phone with Josie. Watch the moment in the video below.

She had absolutely no idea (she was speaking to William). What was great was when she got in to collect her pasty, I got to tell her. I said: 'Do you know who took your order today?' She said: 'It was a gentleman. He called me juicy.'"

Josie couldn't believe it when she found out Prince William took her order!

Frances continued: "And I said: 'Oh, that was actually Prince William. And she just looked at me, very blank-faced. And I said: 'Honestly, Prince William's been here today, and he took your order,' and then one of the girls showed her the video, and she just said: 'Can you send me that video?' So it was really funny. She was really pleased we didn’t charge her for the pasty; we gave her them as a gift, and she was thrilled with that as well. It was a good thing for her."

Working William

But it was just Josie whom the Prince served, and according to Frances, he nearly forgot to take payments for the pasties he sold.

"I had to keep reminding him that we had to sell them. So, yeah, that was quite funny," Frances explained.  She added that the fun was all in the crimping of the pasties for William, who "had quite a laugh" with the girls in the bakery.

"There's always a lot of chit chat going on in the crimping room," Frances said, adding, "We just all had such a lovely day, and we all feel like it's so lucky that the atmosphere of the farm is such a lovely, warm family atmosphere. We felt like that came across in the visit. So we were so pleased about that, because we love where we work. And it was nice that Cornwall and England has seen that now."
