Princess Kate celebrates 'quiet strength' in heartfelt International Women’s Day message


Kate took to Instagram Stories to mark International Women's Day on Sunday in a heartfelt tribute to the women who make up communities worldwide

The Princess of Wales has marked International Women's Day with a heartfelt tribute to the "quiet strength" of women across the world. 

Taking to Instagram Stories on Sunday, Kate, 44, penned: "Today we celebrate the kindness, resilience and quiet strength of women in our families and communities.

"This day is about standing up alongside one another – recognising the loving influence of women, who nurture hope, encourage others and help make the world kinder and more compassionate. C"

Alongside the post, Kate shared of a picture a mother embracing her daughter from the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, which she founded back in 2021. "The early years are not simply about how we raise our children. They are about the society we will become," penned Kate for the foundation, which champions the fundamental first five years of life. 

Following the post, Kate also shared a series of digital postcards highlighting various women such as child development professor Iram Siraj, former ranger Hope Ngulube, author Tracey Ford and Bayo founder Dr Yansie Rolston.

Queen Camilla celebrates International Women's Day

As for Queen Camilla, who also took to Instagram Stories to mark the special day, she shared a series of pictures that highlighted the "remarkable" people she's worked with over the past year, including French rape survivor Gisele Pelicot, jockey Aamilah Aswat, restauranteur Asma Khan and author Maggie O'Farrell. 

"Let your lives be the stones that will shatter glass ceilings everywhere and inspire generations to come," read the quote by the Queen in 2024. The caption of the post also read: "Today, on International Women's Day, we celebrate the remarkable women whose courage, creativity and compassion are helping to shape stronger communities across the world.

"Over the past year, The Queen has had the privilege of meeting many inspiring individuals – here are just a few of their stories."
