It's set to be a busy day in the Matthews household on Sunday with Mother's Day and a special birthday all in one.

Pippa Middleton will likely be treated to a host of gifts and treats from her husband James Matthews and their three children, Arthur, seven, Grace, and Rose, three – and maybe she'll even get breakfast in bed.

It's also Grace's fifth birthday, so the family home, Bucklebury Farm in Berkshire, will be packed from top to bottom with presents and celebrations.

The couple purchased the £1.5 million estate, which has 72 acres of land and includes a deer park and children's play areas, in 2020, relocating from their Georgian townhouse in London. Last year, the farm's Instagram account shared photos inside the birthday party barn there, giving a glimpse into what any celebrations might look like.

Luckily, Pippa's parents, Carole  and Michael Middleton, only live a stone's throw away in Bucklebury Manor if they need any help. The Princess of Wales's sister married hedge fund manager James in May 2017.

Pippa's rules for birthday parties

In 2011, Pippa shared her favourite birthday party planning tips on her blog Party Times, on her parents' website Party Pieces. It may provide hints as to how she arranges birthdays for her own children now.

In the blog, she advised parents not to "feel obliged to invite the whole class" and said parties should last a maximum of three hours. Ideally, they should be "held at home for family and a few friends".

Party bags are crucial, and make sure to have spares for guests and siblings. Documenting the moment is important too, with phones and cameras, as birthday photos are always front and centre in the family album.

Another tip read: "The key to creating a wonderful party lies not in spending vast amounts but in planning – from choice of venue, entertainer and party theme to the selection of food, decorations and of course the birthday cake."

Pippa's relatable moment

Earlier this week, HELLO! exclusively revealed an insight into Pippa's very normal parenting life. Pippa, 42, undertook a very incognito train journey from London to Newbury with her son Arthur.

The mother-of-three was travelling without her husband, James Matthews, appearing every inch the "normal" and relatable mum as they snacked on sushi and doughnuts. The duo were travelling in standard class, not first, and did not appear to have a seat reservation.

As they approached their destination, her son refused to stop watching his iPad, but Pippa was firm with him and threatened to limit his future access, marking a relatable parenting moment.

A source told us: "Pippa was just a very normal mum. She was very attentive to her son, who was engrossed in his iPad, and went totally under the radar in the train carriage. She carried her own luggage and was really polite and friendly, you’d never guess she was related to royalty."

Pippa was following in her sister's footsteps, as William and Kate made their own incognito train journey to Pontypridd in Wales last February.
