Princess Beatrice had a sweet reason to smile over the weekend after receiving a thoughtful Mother's Day surprise from her stepson, Christopher Woolf Mapelli Mozzi. The nine-year-old, affectionately known as Wolfie, was pictured making a handmade card for the special occasion in a photo shared by his mother, Dara Huang.

In an Instagram Story posted on Sunday, Wolfie could be seen sitting at a table on a train with coloured pencils and paper spread out in front of him, carefully working on the heartfelt piece.

Dressed in a navy puffer jacket with orange accents, the youngster appeared fully focused on the task, with a green bag visible beside him. Sharing the adorable moment, Dara captioned the snap: "Making his stepmom a Mother's Day card" followed by a pink heart emoji.

She added: "I taught him how to draw a (bee emoji)." The post offered a rare public glimpse into Princess Beatrice's role within the blended family she shares with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi

The special occasion comes shortly after Beatrice's father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office during his time as a trade envoy for the United Kingdom.

On 19 February, which also marked the former Duke's 66th birthday, Andrew was held in custody for 11 hours, later being pictured leaving Aylsham police station.

Meanwhile, Beatrice has been keeping a low profile in recent weeks. Her stepson Wolfie is the son of the property developer and designer Dara Huang from their previous relationship.

The royal became his stepmother when she married Edoardo in a private Windsor ceremony in July 2020. Beatice and her husband Edo have since welcomed two daughters together; Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, who was born in September 2021, while their second daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, was born in January 2025.

Dara, Edoardo, and Beatrice all remain on excellent terms. Talking about co-parenting, Dara previously told Harper's Bazaar: "Wolfie has had two sets of parents trying to help him on both sides, and I just think, 'The more, the merrier.'"
