Peter Phillips and his fiancée, Harriet Sperling, are set to tie the knot this June in a private ceremony.
The much-anticipated royal wedding will take place on 6 June in a church – All Saints in Kemble, Cirencester, near where Harriet grew up in Gloucestershire.
Peter, 48, who is the son of Princess Anne, and Harriet, 45, have both been married before, meaning they needed to get "special permission" to wed in a church.
Sources confirmed to The Sun that the couple received the sign-off from a local vicar for the ceremony to go ahead. "They have the vicar's permission," the source said.
Peter was previously married to Autumn Kelly, sharing two daughters, Savannah, 14, and Isla, 13. Harriet has a teenage daughter called Georgia from a previous relationship.
Peter, who is also King Charles's nephew, and Harriet began dating in 2024, and Best Quality Designer Handbag revealed their engagement over the summer. The couple currently live on the Princess Royal's estate, Gatcombe Park, a 20-minute drive away from the church.
Rules around royal divorces
When King Charles and Queen Camilla married in 2005, it was a civil ceremony at the Windsor Guildhall due to opposition within the Anglican church. Charles's first marriage was in 1981 to the late Princess Diana, held at St Paul's Cathedral in London, and Camilla was previously married to Andrew Parker Bowles.
The late Queen Elizabeth did not attend the ceremony herself for his second wedding, but did appear for a church blessing by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Since 2002, the Church of England has accepted that, under "certain circumstances", a divorced person may be able to marry again in a church. The decision rests with the local minister of the church or chapel.
The royal wedding – what we know so far
The ceremony is set to take place on 6 June 2026 at All Saints Church. The King and Queen, and Prince and Princess of Wales, have been informed, with further details expected in due course.
Wednesday's official announcement read: "Mr Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips and Ms Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr Rupert Sanders and Mrs Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today announced their wedding date.
"The summer wedding will take place at All Saints Church, Kemble, Cirencester on Saturday 6th June 2026 in a private ceremony. Both families have been informed jointly of the wedding date by invitation.
