Unseen treasures from Queen Elizabeth II’s wardrobe go on display
More than 300 items from Queen Elizabeth II’s wardrobe go on display at The King’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace, as the largest-ever exhibition of the late Queen’s fashion opens to mark the centenary of her birth.
Drawn from Queen Elizabeth’s personal fashion archive – now part of the Royal Collection – the items on display trace the evolution of her world-famous style across nearly a century of public life.
Among the exhibition’s highlights are outfits worn by the Queen for significant personal milestones. These include the dress, robe and coronet she wore as a child at her parents’Coronation; her wedding dress; a rare surviving dress from her first Commonwealth tour as Queen in 1953–4; and ensembles chosen for the weddings of her sister, Princess Margaret and cousin, Princess Alexandra.
Displayed for the first time is an evening gown discreetly tailored to accommodate her first pregnancy between 1948 and 1950. Visitors will also see garments worn at landmark moments in the nation’s history, from the Coronation dress that heralded a new Elizabethan era to the Tudor-inspired ensemble worn for Prince Charles’s investiture as Prince of Wales.
Outfits marking her Silver, Golden, Diamond, and Platinum Jubilees highlight key chapters in the Queen’s 70-year reign.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's 'revolving door' of neighbours
After two decades at Royal Lodge, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor officially relocated to Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate this Easter Monday, April 6, 2026. While King Charles has provided this private sanctuary, the secluded farmhouse is surrounded by a "revolving door" of transient neighbours.
The nearest property, Wood Farm, served as Andrew's temporary residence during renovations but typically sits empty or hosts visiting royals like the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh. Other nearby homes, such as The Folly and Gardens House, are active holiday rentals for the public, while the historic Park House remains uninhabitable.
Meanwhile, the Prince and Princess of Wales remain occasional neighbors at Anmer Hall during royal holidays.
Inside Prince Philip's solitary retirement
To mark the fifth anniversary of Prince Philip's death in 2021, we have taken a look back at his quiet retirement years, having stepped down from royal duties in 2017.
In his new biography, Queen Elizabeth II: A Personal History, royal author Hugo Vickers details Prince Philip’s final years, a period during which he and the late Queen lived largely apart.
The author wrote: "He was at his happiest at Wood Farm and he more or less settled there. In the course of the next two and a half years, that was his home. He enjoyed his carriage-driving, read voraciously and painted a little.
"From time to time she went up by train to Norfolk to stay the weekend. Once again she gave him a loose rein. In a sense they separated. Penny Romsey, the new Countess Mountbatten, often stayed with him there."
King Charles and Queen Camilla celebrate 21 happy years
To mark King Charles and Queen Camilla's 21st wedding anniversary today, we are taking a look back through the royal archives at pictures of their love story.
The decades-spanning romance between King Charles and Queen Camilla began in 1970 when both were 23. Following respective marriages and the births of their children, the pair reportedly rekindled their relationship in 1986.
The couple faced intense public scrutiny during the 1990s, particularly following Princess Diana's death. They eventually announced their engagement in February 2005, leading to an unconventional second wedding on 9 April 2005. As both were divorcees, they opted for a civil ceremony followed by a formal religious blessing at Windsor.
Princess Beatrice's father-in-law breaks silence on marriage reports
Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, the 74-year-old father of Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, has provided a rare response to speculation regarding his son's marriage to Princess Beatrice. While the couple is typically private, recent reports have alleged a "distance" in their relationship following the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in February 2026.
Approached for comment on these rumours of marital strain, the Italian aristocrat made it clear he would not be drawn into the discussion.
"I have plenty of opinions, but I am not going to talk about them," he told the Daily Mail, adding: "It's not my affair, you should go and talk to my son about it."
His brief reply mirrors the stance of the couple’s close friends, who have dismissed the claims as "nonsense," attributing any perceived distance solely to Edoardo’s recent international business commitments with Banda Property.
