King Charles' message

Marking his late mother's centenary, King Charles released a special video message marking the occasion. "Much about the times we now live in I suspect may have troubled her deeply, but I take heart from her belief that goodness will always prevail and that a brighter dawn is never far from the horizon," he said.

"For as a young Princess Elizabeth put it in her first ever public broadcast, aged just 14, we can each play our part 'to make the world of tomorrow a better and happier place'. It is a belief which I share, with all my heart."

So what is happening?

So, if you're not aware of what the plans are for today's big events, here's what you need to know.

King Charles and Queen Camilla are due to be at the British Museum to observe the designs for the upcoming Queen Elizabeth Memorial. They will be joined by other members of the royal family and the Prime Minister, Keir Starmer. Meanwhile, Princess Anne will officially open The Queen Elizabeth II Garden in The Regent's Park.

These will take place ahead of a reception held at Buckingham Palace to honour the late Queen's centenary. There will be one absence, as Prince Edward will be in Truro at the Hall for Cornwall.

And away from the British royals, Denmark's Princess Isabella is celebrating her 19th birthday.
