Leopard print can be a divisive fashion look but Cat Deeley is here to prove that the animal print really is a neutral. The TV star chose to embrace the pattern to host Thursday's This Morning, and her clever styling is all the evidence we need that it's as easy to wear as stripes or polka dots.
- Cat Deeley, 49, wore a leopard print skirt to host This Morning
- Cat's is the Mint Velvet Bias Cut Midi Skirt, £99.
- The TV presenter teamed her skirt with a brown knit and coordinating boots.
Cat kept her outfit tonal by teaming the Mint Velvet Animal Print Skirt with a relaxed, oversized brown roll neck. The knit is sold out, but there's plenty of similar styles on the high street. (Try this Whistles jumper for an alternative).
She added a pair of dark brown pointed boots to keep things within the same colour palette; a key to downplaying leopard print, if you're a little nervous to try the look.
Cat's skirt is an effortless dip into animal print, with an earth-tone colour palette than the brighter yellow-brown shades that are more traditional with leopard print. Her skirt is a flattering fit, too; cut on the bias, the semi-sheer material gives the skirt an effortlessly stylish vibe, and lighter in weight for spring.
Made from 100% polyester, the semi-sheer fabric can be worn casually, with knitwear and boots, or dressed up with a blazer and heels.
Available in UK sizes 6 - 18, you can purchase it via John Lewis or Next.
Why Cat's skirt works
- The cut: Bias cut pieces are cut diagonally, draping over curves without clinging.
- The fabric: Semi-sheer means not only is it lightweight, but it makes the pattern less bold.
- The finish: Polyester makes this a hardwearing, crease-free piece.

I discovered this very similar skirt at Crew Clothing, with prices starting from £35; like Cat's, it has a muted palette, bias cut and mid-length.
While Cat's exact River Island has sold out, I tracked down a similarly oversized jumper in a similar shade and fit from Whistles. Follow Cat's lead and wear it untucked with the skirt for a more modern, up to date look.
Cat's styling is a perfect example of slipping animal print into your everyday wardrobe. Wear the print with neutral colours and you'll find it easier to style than you think.
Cat's recent fashion hits
Cat rarely puts a stylish foot wrong with her This Morning outfits, and there's a few I've loved over the past few weeks.
One of her easiest to recreate outfits was this Mint Velvet jumper and Very A-Line leather skirt, on sale for £39; I loved the alternative shape of her skirt, a more unusual fit for leather but achingly stylish.
And showing how versatile Cat's style can be, she flipped her look a few days later to embrace a more masculine look. A ME+EM shirt, with tie, with black trousers tapped into the modern tailoring trend - a great blue print for your next work outfit.
