There’s no denying it – Drew Barrymore’s skin looks incredible. Now in her early 50s, the TV host and actress is looking better than ever. So it’s no surprise her fans are desperate to know her skincare secrets – and luckily, we’ve found the product she is obsessed with.
Drew credits Sunday Riley’s Good Genes treatment for seeing a 'huge difference' in her skin. The FLOWER Beauty founder shared her glow-boosting find with her 1.5M Instagram followers. "I’ve been using this product 1-2 times a week at night and love the results!", she told fans.
- Drew Barrymore, 50, shares her skincare secrets.
- One of the products in her lineup is Sunday Riley's Good Genes, from $50.
- "It's cult for a reason", she said.
She describes the overnight treatment as giving an "amazing polish" to the face. The cult classic lactic acid treatment gently exfoliates dullness while the licorice root leaves skin looking bright.
As Drew said: "I do it maybe once, two times a week and it has this lemony, fresh, sort of functional scent but it’s really great. I see a huge difference in the brightening, tightening and youthening of my skin. It tingles a little bit too, which always makes you think it’s working."
"It’s cult for a reason," she added.
Dubbed as a “multitasking, targeted treatment”, Good Genes is designed to plump fine lines and wrinkles in three minutes and is packed with lactic acid to clarify the skin. It can be used as a bi-weekly treatment, applied onto dry skin day or night and left as a leave-on treatment. It's ideal for those with dark spots too, as it can exfoliate the skin to lessen these.
Prices for the serum range from $50, depending on the size you wish to purchase.
Sunday Riley Good Genes - my thoughts
I've used this treatment on and off throughout the years. At 43-years-old, I lean towards slightly more hardworking beauty products and this is up there with one of the best. Like Drew says, I personally found my skin to be a lot clearer after use, with my pores significantly reduced; I wouldn't say gone, but markedly smaller. I have quite reactive skin but didn't suffer from any side effects and truth be told, I enjoyed the tingly sensation it gave to my skin before bed.
I'd definitely say it's one to have your beauty cabinet for those days your skin needs something extra. Use before big events for clearer, glowier skin.
Drew's other fave beauty buys
- Mario Badescu Drying Mask, $20 / £15.95 - "It blew me away", the Charlies Angels star said of Mario Badescu’s Drying Mask on her talk show last year. After using it, Drew said, "my pores were visibly gone".
- Drew’s bathroom cabinet also includes drugstore favourite, Olay’s Ultimate Eye Cream, $30 / £24.99.
- She has also sworn by Olay's Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream Moisturizer, $24.94 / £19.99 for the past "12-15 years".
Opting for whichever works best for her, from luxury brands to drugstore buys - we love Drew's sensible beauty bag!
