Polka dots never date and This Morning's resident fashion stylist Jo Good proved any polka dot naysayers wrong by proving that the classic design is here to stay. And it's never been more chic.

Jo, 71, featured on Tuesday's show to inspire viewers on how to style polka dots for spring. From elegant everyday polka dot dresses to polka dot co-ords and accessories, the segment celebrated all things dotty - including Jo's outfit too.

  • Jo Good a white and brown polka dot dress during a fashion segment on Tuesday's This Morning.
  • Her stylish dress if from Boden, priced at £139.
  • "You can use polka dots as a staple - don't be scared of it" she told viewers.

The broadcaster, aka @middleagedminx, looked stunning in a Boden polka dot cotton dress, calling it "so adaptable, and it has pockets!"

Proving how much of impact a polka dot dress can have, Jo styled her Boden dress with chunky, platform heels and pearl jewellery, the perfect complement to a polka dot.

"You can use polka dots as a staple," Jo told viewers. "Don't be scared of it. You can double it up, or you can just use it as an accessory. You must get the background right with polka dots."

"I love this dress," Jo says of her Boden dress. "This will take you through the spring and the summer,  because you can wear this to weddings, you can wear this to Wimbledon, you can wear this to Chelsea Flower Show, a concert. It's literally so adaptable, and has pockets - everything should have pockets. I love it."

The dress, called the Arabella Cotton Maxi Dress, is priced at £139. Made from 100%  soft cotton the dress is gently fitted at the waist with darts and cinched in with the matching belt. The fit and flare shape is forever flattering, and it's machine washable.

Rather than being the classic black and white polka dot, its actually a white dress with brown-red polka dots, a very on-trend colour combination for the next few seasons.

It's currently available in only a few sizes at Boden, but if you shop at Next you'll find it all sizes from 8 - 18; Boden does offer a petite and long version, so you might want to consider those if you're a little taller or shorter.

Hollie Brotherton, Best Quality Designer Handbag 's Digital Luxe & Commerce Editor commented on the trend: "The timeless style is elegant but playful, statement but effortless, sophisticated but fun."

How to style Jo's dress

Jo is always the best model to prove that a trend has no age barrier. The petite style guru always knows how to style a piece to make it trendy, but timeless too. As well as Jo's style ideas, we've come up with some other ways make the dress work, whatever the occasion:

  • Smart: Follow Jo's lead and wear with stacked heels, pearl jewellery and glowing makeup. You could go for an espadrille too, if the occasion suits.
  • Casual: Dress it down with chunky sandals or flip flops, or sneakers and a denim jacket.
