Amanda Wakeley OBE is bringing her signature brand of effortless elegance to the high street. The British designer, who is renowned for dressing the likes of Princess Diana and Princess Kate, has unveiled a chic new capsule collection at John Lewis, marking an exciting new chapter for her eponymous label.

Rooted in her unmistakable style DNA, the collection translates her clean, fluid silhouettes into versatile wardrobe pieces, perfectly timed for the upcoming summer occasion season. Designed to move seamlessly from day to evening, the capsule includes dresses, cover-ups and co-ords, combining premium fabrics, modern tailoring and feminine detailing in Amanda’s chic and understated aesthetic.

"I can't do an Amanda Wakeley collection that doesn't really reflect my true core values," she told HELLO!. "It's spring/summer and very much occasionwear, but I'm not putting you girls in frilly floral frocks. It's very Wakeley style."

As one of Princess Diana’s most trusted designers during the 1990s, Amanda dressed the royal for both formal occasions and more relaxed, off-duty moments, helping to shape her distinctive approach to modern dressing. Most notably, she designed the emerald green power suit Diana wore to announce she would take a step back from public duties in December 1993. It was a look that became emblematic of her more assured, independent style.

"Diana's style was a masterclass in evolution," says Amanda. "She began with that quintessential Sloane Ranger polish - demure and traditional - but as she grew into herself, her style became sleek, sophisticated, and confident. She embraced structured tailoring, fluid eveningwear, and bold accessories, always carrying an effortless grace."

Subtle echoes of that era can be seen in the new collection, from confident tailoring to elevated jewel tones.

Amanda Wakeley’s designs have also been worn by Catherine, Princess of Wales, who chose a stunning gown from the designer’s autumn/winter 2006 collection for her first solo royal engagement in 2014.

The dress featured a simple, flowing silhouette with delicate rhinestone detailing and was subtly altered for Kate, including a raised waistline compared to the original runway version.

From fluid dresses to tailored separates, the collection is full of beautiful and timeless styles. "I have always felt passionately about timeless forever pieces that will slot into our wardrobes with ease," says Amanda. "These are pieces designed to work hard, clothes that move with you, flatter you, and make you feel like the best version of you." Shop our favourites below.
