Catherine O'Hara's family held a "celebration of life" service for the late actress on February 14, and despite the memorial being a "private" gathering, an attendee has shared a glimpse into the sombre event.
Actress Kelly Lynch took to Instagram on Tuesday and posted a photo of the program given to mourners who attended the service at St. Martin of Tours Church in Brentwood, Los Angeles.
The program featured a black and white photo of Catherine as a youngster wearing what appeared to be a school sweater and a plaid skirt as she beamed for the camera with her hands in the air.
Alongside the photo were the words: "In loving memory, Catherine Ann O'Hara. March 4, 1954 – January 30, 2026," followed by the location and date of the memorial.
Kelly shared two other photos, one of which was Catherine sitting on a chair under a palm tree opposite Seth Rogen in his series The Studio, and a throwback snapshot of her sitting on the bumper of a Lincoln in a pair of shorts and a T-shirt.
Kelly captioned the photos: "Rest in peace darling Catherine," and added the poem, Late Fragment, composed by Raymond Carver while he was dying of cancer.
It read: "And did you get what you wanted from this life, even so? I did. And what did you want? To call myself beloved, to feel myself beloved on the earth."
The beloved Schitt's Creek actress died on January 30 at her home in LA, aged 71. Following the sad news, it was announced on February 9 that Catherine's cause of death was a blood clot in the lungs.
TMZ was the first to break the news that, per an official death certificate from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office, a pulmonary embolism was listed as the immediate cause, with rectal cancer as the underlying reason.
Shortly after the news of her death, the Replica Luxury Handbag Alone star's manager confirmed the news to HELLO! in a statement. "Prolific multi-award-winning actress, writer, and comedian Catherine O’Hara died today (Friday, January 30) at her home in Los Angeles following a brief illness," it read. "A private celebration of life will be held by the family."
Catherine was rushed to the hospital after first responders were called to her Brentwood, Los Angeles, home around 5 a.m. on January 30.
According to 911 dispatch audio obtained by Page Six, Catherine was having "difficulty breathing" before she was transported to a nearby hospital in a "serious condition."
"At 4:48 am we responded to a request for medical aid to that address and transported an approximately 70-year-old female in serious condition," the Los Angeles Fire Department said in a statement. She passed away hours later.
Catherine is survived by her husband, Bo Welch, a production designer and director, and their two sons, Matthew and Luke.
Catherine was last seen in public in September, when she stepped out to attend the 2025 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles alongside her husband.
