After months of speculation, Katy Perry confirmed her relationship with Justin Trudeau in December, but he's not the only Trudeau man the singer has won over.
The former Canadian Prime Minister's son, Xavier Trudeau, 18, has broken his silence on his dad's romance and publicly shared his opinion of the pop superstar.
"She's cool, she's nice," he said in a recent social media video. "We talked for hours, talking about my music. She gave me advice and next steps for me and stuff."
The advice was no doubt invaluable to Xavier, who is building a R&B music career under the moniker Xav.
"I always loved music, whether it's creating it, listening to it," he explained on The Brandon Gonez Show podcast in May. "I always had a passion for it."
Justin and his estranged wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, nurtured Xavier's passion and enrolled him in music lessons ranging from drums to guitar and piano. He then began producing beats to record over on his phone before making R&B music.
© Instagram"They've been supported since the start," he said of his parents. "Every single time I come back from the studio, I'd have something to show then, and we sit at dinner and just listen to it like, 'Oh, I like this. I don't like that.'
"They love it," he continued. "They're happy for me. They're happy I'm choosing my own path in life."
Justin and Katy were first linked on July 28, 2025, after they were spotted enjoying dinner at Le Violon in Montreal, Canada.
© Instagram"Katy and Justin seemed to have had a fantastic evening," a rep for the restaurant told People, adding that the couple greeted the chef and waitstaff after their meal. "They were super kind and friendly to the staff, and it was an absolute pleasure to have them at the restaurant."
On July 30, Justin showed his support for Katy by attending her Lifetimes tour in Montreal with his daughter, Ella-Grace. Various posts on social media captured the politician appearing mesmerized by Katy's show, and even singing along to several of her hits, including "Firework" and "Dark Horse."
© XOn October 11, new photos appeared to confirm romance rumors between Katy and Justin, as the pair were spotted sharing an intimate embrace during a luxury yacht getaway off the coast of Santa Barbara.
In the images, which were reportedly taken in September but shared in October, Katy, wearing a black one-piece swimsuit, and Justin, shirtless in jeans, are seen holding each other closely on the upper deck of her four-metre yacht, the Caravelle.

Fast forward to December, and Katy went Instagram Official with Justin, sharing photos and videos from their trip to Japan, where she performed on her Lifetimes Tour. One image was a smiling selfie of the pair, and there were several clips capturing dinner dates, too.
