Like a true actor, Julianne Hough is certainly not afraid of switching up her appearance for a role. The 37-year-old has traded her bushy, dark eyebrows for a razor-thing 90s-inspired look in preparation of her role in The Bride.
Julianne took to her Instagram Stories on February 25 to bid farewell to her fluffy brows. The video shows the star seated in the makeup chair as the glam artist carefully swept a deep, smoky eyeshadow across her lids. Julianne’s brows were expertly sculpted into a sleek, sharply defined arch, framing her look with striking precision. Alongside the video, she penned: "Goodbye Eyebrows @thebridgemovie."
The Bride is Maggie Gyllenhaal‘s follow-up to her Academy Award-nominated drama The Lost Daughter. The Warner Bros title also stars Christian Bale, Jessie Buckley, Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening and Penelope Cruz.
The synopsis reads: "A lonely Frankenstein travels to 1930s Chicago to ask groundbreaking scientist Dr. Euphronious to create a companion for him. The two revive a murdered young woman and The Bride is born. What ensues is beyond what either of them imagined: Murder! Possession! A wild and radical cultural movement! And outlaw lovers in a wild and combustible romance!"
HELLO!'s TV & Film Editor Nicky Morris spoke to us about the highly-anticipated gothic-romance. "Jessie Buckley really is having a moment," she shared. "Hot on the heels of her BAFTA-winning turn in Hamnet, the Irish actress joins the likes of Christian Bale, Julianne Hough and Jake Gyllenhaal in the upcoming horror romance, The Bride! - which I can't wait for! It's the follow-up to writer and director Maggie Gyllenhaal's Oscar-nominated debut, The Lost Daughter, so it's safe to say expectations are high."
Julianne's work
Julianne kicked off the year on vacation after a busy fall. She hosted the 34th season of DWTS, which ended in late November when Robert Irwin took home the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. Julianne first appeared on the dancing competition show in 2007 as a dancer, winning her first season with partner Apollo Ono.
She judged seasons 19 through 21, finally becoming a co-host alongside Alfonso Ribeiro in 2023. "I'm here to hold space for the dancers, the celebrities, and even the audience — so they can relax and be their most authentic selves. It's about legacy and nurturing now, not proving anything," she previously told Variety.
